Geumam Soba — Restaurant in Jeonju-si

I really wanted to grab a soba with my wife so we searched around using Naver and picked this locally popular spot.

I must say that it was pretty good but it wasn’t anything special to be honest. The portion was ok. We went around 11:30 but there was about 20 min wait. Not sure it’s worth the wait when it’s scorching hot out.

Lastly, the parking is terrible so we took the bus there.

겨울 주말인데 신년 1월 1일이라 한가했다. 멸치 진한 츠케가 감칠맛과 단맛이 강하고 구운 김 향이 도드라져서 무척 입에 맞는다. 강한 멸치향에 익숙하지 않은 분들 외에는 입에 맞으실 듯 콩물은 약간 설탕 간이 되어 나오는데 전라도 기준에는 더 설탕을 넣어야할 정도 약한 설탕 간. 소금을 조금 넣는 쪽도 맛있다. 청량한 콩국은 아니고 볶은 콩고물이 푸짐하게 들어간 구수하게 익은 콩국 맛이다. 면 없이 콩물만 주문된다. 콩물만 포장도 해가는 것 같다. 비빔소바는 고급진 맛 쫄면으로 먹다가 보면 꽤 매워진다. 아삭이는 양배추채와 면의 매끈한 식감이 어울어져 맛있게 먹을만하다. 전반적으로 양은 적지 않다. 면이 소바라고는 하지만 메밀향이 강하고 함량이 높지는 않고 밀가루 함량이 우세한 검은 국수로 생각하시는게 좋을 듯하다. 매끈한 촉감이 무척 좋다. 인근의 태평집과 함께 전주 현지 분들이 무척 좋아하는 가게란 것을 느낄 수 있다. 조금 연하게 하고 메밀함량을 높이면 광화문 미진의 소바가 연상되는...
