Yingbin Lu (Champong, sweet and sour) — Restaurant in Pyeongtaek-si

I shared food with my friends. The food that they ate was very delicious. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork, and the fried dumplings.

I like spicy food, so I asked if they could add some kind of chili to my fried rice. The waitress said that they don't have any chilies. I just thought that was lazy and ridiculous. How does a Chinese restaurant not have any type of chilies when half of the dishes contain chili.

I saw the issue by going next door in the middle of my meal and getting some dry Thai chilies and returning and cutting them up and adding them to my rice and mixing it in.

Hmm, looks like my taste moved on. I remember enjoying 짬뽕 over 20 years ago but I was just average. It’s 짬뽕 is chicken stock based old fashioned style and my preference must moved on. 😕 Pan fried dumpling also wasn’t special either and they wasn’t as crispy as some reported. Only other dish I wanted to try again is 탕수육 but being solo diner I have waiting for the next visit.

The old restaurant was hole in the wall place but the current one is renovated dining area and it has parking lot in the back which is convenient...

짬뽕, 군만두, 탕수육(소) 먹었음. 전국 5대짬뽕이라 일컬어지는 집이므로 당연히 짬뽕을 먹어야함. 그이름을 갖게 된 메뉴니까. 대단한 명성답게 맛은 기가막힘. 고기베이스 국물에 오징어가 더러 들어있음. 사실 고기가 더 많음. 이집이 진짜 고기를 잘다루는 집임. 고기에 칼집을 넣어 부드러운 식감을 구현함. 원래 고기가 짬뽕에 들어있다면 대부분 질기고, 퍽퍽하기 마련인데 이 집은 참 부드러움. 국물은 고소한 편이고 MSG를 많이 사용하지 않은 듯 다 먹고 난 뒤 텁텁한 느낌이 없었음.

이 집의 진짜 메뉴는 군만두임. 찐만두를 튀겨 식감도 좋고 두툼하게 직접 빚은 만두는 속도 풍성함. 당면 위주가 아닌 고기와 약간의 부추인 듯. 개인적으로 군만두는 지금까지 먹어본 것 들 중에 손가락에 꼽을 수 있을정도.

탕수육은 약간 새콤하고 단 맛이었음. 튀김옷은 찹쌀을 사용한 듯 보였으며, 고기는 역시 부드러웠음. 이 집 고기 잘 다루는 집이 확실함.

개인적으로 맛의 크기는 군만두는 특대, 짬뽕은 대, 탕수육은 중상이었음.

카운터에 있는분이 상당히 무뚝뚝함을 넘어 불친절함까지 느꼈는데 기분나쁜일은 알아서 푸시든 하시고, 손님상대하는 곳에서는 친절함을 보여주시길. 내가 당신 썩어가는 표정의 얼굴 보러간것은 아니요!

서비스부분 별 더 빼고 싶은데 사장님이신지 연세 있으신분이 친절하셔서 그나마 별3개임. 외부 공사중이라 어수선함. 그래서 별3개. 가게 뒤편 주차장도 꽤 넓은 편이고, 중식 특성상 회전이 빠른 편이므로 평일 주차는 크게 어렵지 않을듯. 문제는 주말이겠지.

당연히 재방문의사 있으며, 꼭 가족을 데리고 방문하고 싶음. 맛있는것을 먹으면 가장 가까운 사람들과 나누고...
