Donkey and I decided to visit Galchiwang Jungmun Branch because it's famous for its fish and has a high goggle rating of 4.6 stars. This lunch stop was purposely planned along the route of our round island trip on the fantasy bike path in Jeju.

When we arrived, the place wasn't very crowded, which was a great surprise. It was a perfect opportunity to enjoy the restaurant’s unique atmosphere and try their famous fish.

The interior had a traditional Korean feel, with wood carvings and warm lighting. It felt cosy, almost like a family restaurant.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped us choose from the menu and made sure we had a great experience. It felt like we were being welcomed into a local favourite.

We loved the overall vibe of the place. It felt authentic, and the food was delicious. We decided to try the grilled hairtail (갈치구이) and the braised hairtail (갈치조림). Both dishes were amazing. The grilled hairtail was perfectly cooked, and the braised hairtail had a rich, savory sauce. We had a really great time at Galchiwang. We recommend it to anyone visiting...

Best Galchi or grilled cutlassfish in Jeju. The name Galchi Wang exceeded all of its expectations and the food definitely lived up to its name. This is a must go to place to eat when anyone is visiting Jeju and a definite highlight to my trip for sure. I wish I can give it more than 5 stars.

From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. This was a new experience of food that only Jeju can provide. We tried the Grilled Whole Cutlassfish for 2 with Peanut Makgeolli. The Makgeolli is only made in Jeju and the drink and food put together is a great combination. Sorry to those who have peanut allergy.

I highly recommend this place to those who are visiting Jeju and I will definitely come back for...
