Donkey and I were on a cycling adventure along the Jeju Fantasy Bike Path, and we were lucky enough to find a fantastic hotel with a perfect location: CO-OP City Hotel Seongsan. After a long day of cycling, we decided to check into the hotel, store our bikes, and unpack before heading out for dinner. We were thrilled to discover that Geumdot Seongsan Black Pork was conveniently located just steps away. I was craving some delicious BBQ meat, so we couldn't resist.

The restaurant specializes in Jeju black pork, which is known for its rich flavor and tenderness. They have a great menu, with dishes like grilled pork belly, pork shoulder, and various side dishes. They offer both lunch sets and à la carte options. The lunch sets are a great value, including a portion of black pork (400g, 600g, or 800g), egg custard, rice, and either black pork soup or seafood miso soup. We opted for the à la carte black pork, ordering a platter of grilled pork belly and pork shoulder. It was absolutely incredible. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were just amazing. We also loved the various side dishes, especially the kimchi. They even have a counter for you to top up the side dishes, and they provide a variety of sauces, including wasabi and lots of other nicely mixed sauces. The staff were friendly and helpful, even assisting us with grilling the meats.

We also ordered a side of Yangnyeom soybean noodles and Makgeolli to accompany our meal. The noodles weren't served hot, which I usually prefer, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. I even grilled them to make them hotter before enjoying them.

What made our experience even more special was the restaurant's proximity to Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak). We were able to enjoy our meal with breathtaking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was a truly memorable experience.

The service at Geumdot Seongsan Black Pork is truly commendable. Even though we were the last customers in the restaurant around 9 p.m., the staff patiently waited for us to finish our food. They didn't rush us or remind us about closing time. They just waited for us to enjoy our meal, which made us feel so comfortable and relaxed.

근 10년 중 갔던 모든 고기집 중에 가장 최악의 서비스. 사기로 신고해야하는거 아닌지. 내가 만약 유명 유튜버였다면 제2의 제주 고기집 사태가 되었을 것. 고기맛은 훌륭, 반찬들은 너무 평범. 8월19일 오후5시쯤 식사함. 일단 당한것이 너무많아서 생각나는것들 만 적음. 오자마자 카운터쪽에 있던 남자 알바가 아는척을 안함. 눈을 마주치고 2초이상 봐도 반응이 없으니 내가 뻘쭘해서 4명이라고 하니까 아무곳이나 앉으라 함. 구래서 주방장이랑 가까운 구석자리로 갔다가 옆 좌석 손님이 5명이라 의자 하나를 빼간 것을 보고 저쪽 앉겠다고 하니 저기는 단체석이라 안된다 함. (아까는 아무곳이나 앉으라며? 근데 4인테이블이 따로 떨어져서 2개가 있던곳인데 왜 단체석이라는지 모르겠음) 옆 좌석에서 5명에서 식하고있는거 대놓고 보이는데 왜 옮기려는 건지 문제인지도 잘 모름. 의자가 3개라서 다른곳으로 바꾸겠다고 하니까 그때서야 다른곳에서 의자 하나 가져다 줌. 그럴 수 있지 하고 앉으니 책상에 진한 회색건더기가 섞인 회색물이 책상 화로와 모서리 사이에 내 엄지손가락 2개치정도 크기로 묻어있었음. 뭔지도 상상이 안가는 오염물이었음. 그래서 처음에 기본세팅하려던 남자알바한테 여기 뭐가 묻어있으니 치워달라고 하니까, 파란 수건으로 쓰윽 닦더니 아무말도 안 함. 제일 중요한건 미안하다는 한마디도 없이 그냥 쓱 닦고 입닫고 감. 아 여기 식탁은 어디든 저런게 묻어있던 곳이겠구나 하는 생각이 들어 진짜 기분 별로 였음. 메뉴를 봤음. 우리는 4명인데 평소 먹는 양이 많진 않아서 800g을 시키려고 했음. 그래서 금돗 기본600g에 특수부위 200을 시켜서 800을 만들려함. 근데 기본 600g에 고기 추가는 무조건 400g씩 밖에 안 되었음. 특수부위도 400g부터 해야한다고한다. 네이버 메뉴에는 심지어 금돗기본 6.6만이 몇g인지도 나와있지도 않음. 특수부위도 몇g인지 안 적혀있고. 여기서 또 삔또가 상함. 아무 설명없이 일부로 고기 400g씩 강매하는곳은 서울쪽에서 먹은 흑돼지 집에선 한 번도 본적 없음. 근데 주문하려는데 그 전부터 메뉴판 띡 던져놓고 아무도 관심을 안 가짐. 주문을 일부로 안받으려는 것처럼 느껴짐. 원래 메뉴판 주면 바로 주문받거나, 다른일이 바쁘면 계속 눈치보면서 주문을 받아야하는데, 주문하려부르는것도 힘들 정도였음. 그냥 메뉴판 받고 방치되어있음. 그래서 일단 옆 테이블에 왔던 직원 불러서 600g만 주문하고 김치찌개랑 공기밥을 시킴. 그 뒤에 숯을 가져오는데 그 네이버 화로쪽 가게 사진을 보면 왕겨같은 노란게 가득 차있음. 근데 우리가 먹는건 정말 더러운 둥둥떠다니는 돼지기름들 뿐이었음. 왕겨는 한 열알 있었나? 나가면서 다른곳들 보니 다른곳들도 다 그랬음. 왕겨 사진 다 안내리면 사기로 고소해야하는거아닌지(첨부사진 참고). 아니면 다 제대로 하던가. 한마디 하려다가 가족들이랑 와서 분위기 망칠까봐 참음. 일단 물 한 잔 먹음. 서스병 같은곳에 담겨있는데 물이 미지근함. 도대체 왜?? 또 실망. 조금 뒤에 김치찌개가 나옴. 8천원이나 해서 이곳만의 맛있는 김치찌개를 기대함. 그런데 그냥 라면스프 국물맛이고, 고기도 심각하게 조금들었음. 한 작은 고기가 8덩이 들었나? 고기 들어있는것도 매우 품질 안좋음. 심지어 어떤건 아예 뼈만 있었음. 우리동네에 1만원짜리 김치찌개에 정말 미친득이 많은 돼지고기가 들어가고 밥리필도 되는걸 생각하면 정말... 정말 가격이 바가지였음. 근데 더 짜증나는건 기다려도 공기밥을 안 주는거임. 공기밥은 그냥 꺼내서 주면 되는거아님?? 조금만 더 기다리다가 안나와서 공기밥 좀 달라고해서 그때서야 받음. 이때도 미안하다는 말 전혀 없음. 고기가 나옴. 근데 고기는 맛있었음. 근데 보통 다 구우면 어떻게 먹으며 맛있다 설명을 해줄텐데 그런건 전혀없고 굽는 알바도 그냥...이미 기분이 상해서 그런걸수도있는데 뭔가 하기싫은게 느껴짐. 실제로 다른 알바 보면 고기 굽다가 갑자기 카운터쪽가서 떠들다가 다시 와서 고기굽다가 이럼. 진짜 정신나갔음;; 이런 정신으로 왜 서비스직을 알바하는지 모르겠음. 일단 고기질은 아주 훌륭했음. 그런데 반찬들이 너무 평범해서 고기를 받쳐주지 못하는 느낌. 숙성도같은경우에는 고기를 이렇게 찍어서 쌈에 이렇게 해먹으면 맛있다하고 실제로 정말로 맛닜는데 여기는 그냥 고기 원툴. 그래서 좀 먹으면 어쩔수없이 필연적으로 느끼해짐. 그래서 뒤쪽으로 갈수록 별로일 가능성도 높고 많이도 못 먹음. 그런데 충격적인것을 발견함. 무려 기본 상차림에 쌈채소가 없다는것...와.... 이거는 다먹어가며 마지막에 셀프코너가 있다는 것을 알았음. 일부로 채소 못먹게 하려고 말을 안하는거라고 밖에 생각이 안 됨... 셀프코너에서 먹으라는 말을 해 주던가ㅡㅡ 소비자 기만이 엄청난 곳임. 600g먹고 더 먹기 싫고 느끼해서 열무국수 2개 주문함. 이건 심지어 저 600g고기 굽고 있을때 주문했음. 근데 이 고기들을 다 먹을때까지 나오지가 않음. 이거 분명 누락이다 하고 끝까지 레전드네 하고 불러서 아까 주문 넣은거 어떻게 된거냐고 물어보니 카운터 가서 모니터를 띡띡띡 여러번 누르더니 주방쪽으로 다녀옴. 그 뒤에 우리한테 곧 나올거라고하고 휙감. 늦어서 좌송하단 말은 없음. 그래서 다시 불러서 혹시 주문 안들어가있었던거면... (이미 고기도 다먹은지 오래고 한참 기다렸는데 타이밍 맞게 안 나오니 이제 슬슬 나가고 싶어서 주문 안 들어가있던거면 취소하고 그만먹으려한다고 말하려고 했는데) 지금 하고 있다고하고 휙하고 사라짐. 사람이라면 물어본 이유가 왜인지 충분히 분위기상 눈치 챌만도한데 그냥 휙하고 사라짐. 열무국수 국물은 이마트 냉면물 1+1 2천원 하는거 맛에 단맛이 듬뿍들어가있어서 먹으니 건강이 나빠지는 느낌이 났음.(얘도 가격7천원임) 다른 알바들도 그러나 봤더니 고기좀 굽다가 가서 힘들어하는 표정 퐉퐉 짓고 떠들고 이러는게 진짜 레전드임. 아 한 분 괜찮았다 회색티 입고 계신 남자분. 부르니 바로 대답하시고 목소리도 크고 말하는 것도 바로 알아들었음. 그리고 나갈때도 심지어 결제해준사람포함 다 거북이 신음소리마냥 안녕히 가세요 하는데 한 여성분이(살짝 나이 있어보이는 얄상한 분) 크게 안녕히 가세요 하심. (아마 그분이 우리 고기를 구워주셨던 분같은데 고기는 아주 맛있었음) 이 두 분 말고는 더 폐급인듯. 고기만 맛있어서는 오래 못감. 사장님이 너무 불쌍하더라. 구글리뷰 네이버리뷰 다 이벤트 하니까 너무 리뷰 많은거 너무 믿진 마시고요. 고기만 먹을거면 추천 그리고 이 댓글에 그 알바들이 더이상은 가게에 없다는 답변이 달리지 않았다면 하루의 마지막을 씹창내게 될테니 젗대 가지 말도록. 최종 거의 10만원 결제하고나왔음. 다른 사람들이...
