Heugdonjjul — Restaurant in Seogwipo-si

Small and cute restaurant, feels like super authentic and true; the waiter was very helpful, and prepared the meat for us. As for the food quality: I don't know if it's the black pork or the preparation, but this pork was render like a good quality steak, and tasted absolutely delicious! Fun that you can refill your side dishes yourself (as they were also quite good!).

We tried pork shoulder and pork belly; pork shoulder definitely wins for us; the belly's fat has a hint of lamb aftertaste. Not bad, but the neck...

I don’t know about the food. This restaurant and the one across are the same owner. But a solo traveler can not eat there. Perhaps because I’m white. On the door the only speaking barely waiter ask me to order the 600 gr. meet. I can not eat so much meet. I ask for 300. But they refuse. Either I take the 600 or I go. I think is racist and it is an extortion of the tourist in this area. It is the same in others places too, but at sometime they agree to give you the food you want....

PROS: the staff is very attentive (despite the fact none of them speaks English); the food was ok. I was planing to try the famous “Jeju black pork barbecue” for a while, and the hotel suggested me this place. I must say that it was good, but not great. the side dishes were good
