After an evening stroll, we decided to stop by Pecado for a light bite, and it turned out to be a pleasant choice. The place was bustling, but the hostess welcomed us warmly and guided us to one of the last remaining seats at the bar—a cozy spot that added to the vibe of the evening.
Before even ordering drinks, we were served a small appetizer of hummus with a hint of smoked paprika. It was a simple yet flavorful start. For our mains, we chose a cheese platter and the Iberico pork taco, paired with a glass of Verdejo for me and a cocktail reminiscent of a Swimming Pool for my wife.
The cheese platter featured four varieties, three of which were quite similar, with the fourth being a blue cheese that stood out slightly in style rather than quality. While the cheeses were undeniably good, a bit more variety—such as a creamy option or a white rind cheese—would have been welcome. That said, the accompaniments were delightful: the almonds were exquisite, the bread was satisfying, and the grapes were a surprising highlight.
The Iberico taco, while flavorful, could have been served warmer to enhance the experience. The portion size was fair for the price, but once the flavorful topping was gone, the taste leaned towards monotony. A touch more complexity would have elevated the dish.
The drinks added a positive note to the evening. My Verdejo was excellent and offered fantastic value for its price. My wife’s cocktail was to her liking, though a bit too sweet for my taste. Still, it complemented the meal and rounded out the experience nicely.
For two drinks, two dishes, and complimentary bread with aioli, we paid around €40, excluding tip. Given the location and the overall quality, it felt like a fair deal. Pecado has its strengths, and we’ll be back to explore more...
Read moreThis is a lovely restaurant, the interior is beautiful. Unfortunately the food was a let down. The food is beautifully presented but lacking in flavour. We were a big group of foodies and nobody from our table was impressed with the food, in fact, 3 of the diners left most of their Thai duck rice as they just thought it had a strange taste to it and to be honest there was so little duck on the rice, it just looked like a leftover mess and for the price we would expect at least a full portion of a duck leg and not just a few strings. Few of us ordered the ibérico pork tacos, the pork was tasty but the tacos were hard and dry. I ordered the tuna tataki with mushrooms as my main which was nice but lacked in flavour. My partner ordered the ibérico pork medium cooked and he got overcooked thin slices of pork. None of us got asked if the food was good or if we were enjoying so we just got up and left after the mains. Service was good but could be improved by checking on the table and trying to rectify any issues there and then. Overall, it's a beautiful, cozy restaurant with a lovely view and set up, but the food needs...
