7 of us had menu del Dia. Some of the dishes were OK but all of my wife's food was terrible. 1 The tinned tuna salad was OK but the Aioli was bland. 2 The Lasagne starter I could only describe as made with a curdled sauce and tastless. 3 The mixed meat platter (Pork beef, lamb and half a sausage) was the worst. The Pork was chewable, but the rest was not and the sausage tasted putrid and could not be eaten. It came with potatoes that had been cooked in a oven for so long they had turned brown all the way through and we're covered in oil yet had no crisp on the outside. 3 Strawberry Cheesecake made in house. What looked like a Strawberry syurp was just coloured syurp without a hint of Strawberry flavour. The Cheesecake itself was once again bland. Service: there were only two waiters to take orders. The other 5 were only bringing and removing plates so if you had a problem with anything, you had a long wait before one of the two waiters got to you. The table was piled up with 3 courses before we could finish the starter but waited over half a hour for desert. Atmosphere: It was a nice outside terrace and the large interior is very nice with glass on 3 side that open to allow air circulation. Tables nicely laid out and clean. It was empty when we arrived at lunch but suddenly became packed and very noisy. We were there 3 hours. Summary: A nice looking restaurant but the food let it down and it can be very busy and noisy at times. I could not recommend it. If I would not have been part of a celebration group I would have complained about everything but I didn't want to...
Read moreSecond time we have been here, as it is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Aguilas we keep it for a treat Prawn starter and filet steak main both to die for. As usual well done meat in Spain means medium at best so mine had to go back, but came out perfect and so tender you could cut it with the back of the knife. Service is amazing, we had the fortune to have Rosa as a waitress who really goes above and beyond, all with such infectious enthusiasm we were laughing all night.
It has to be judged against cost. Top quality meal for €45 a head with plenty of drinks and bread is a lot more than a del dia but a lot cheaper that UK. I'd expect to pay double for this quality
In terms of locally, there are other bars in a similar price band but for quality, service and atmosphere this...
NO.
