The ambience in the restaurant feels quite nice. There is a winter garden area, with the view to the square and the city hall. The good point is that they have a menu in English. The starters we ordered are very delicious: garlician soup, garlician peppers, and the famous pulpo (octopus). The main course we had was the Monkfish in garlician style. It was not bad but nothing special. The dessert was the high light of the meal. The chocolate mousse was very dense and rich, full of dark chocolate taste, and not too sweet. So that would be a good choice of dark chocolate fans. The fried milk was also the type of dense and rich pudding-like taste, with crispy cover, and caramel sugar coating. The Rioja wine we chose was the most expensive one on the list, and it was not disappointing. The service was a bit rough. But it is difficult to say whether it the the local style, or the language barrier. No waiter or waitress can speak a single sentence of English. When one waiter served the wine to us, just opened the bottle and threw it on our table, and then he just disappeared, not saying any word during the whole serving process. We were a bit shocked. This is my favourite place to eat in Coruña. My boyfriend’s family has introduced me to this restaurant and we’ve been visiting since 6 years. Everytime we visit the city, we always make time to eat their “tortilla de patata”. It is amazing. When it’s the season, pimientos (fried peppers) goes so well with it too. Their meat is also top!! (ternera asada) I’ve tried croquetas as well. All delicious. The location, the atmosphere, everything serves to your experience. Definitely recommended! Mi primer encuentro con este restaurante fue hace años, gracias a la invitación de un compañero de trabajo. Quedé encantado con su deliciosa tortilla de patata y su exquisita selección de pescados y mariscos. Sin embargo, mi reciente visita con mi pareja se vio empañada por una serie de inconvenientes que no esperaba encontrar en un establecimiento de su renombre.

En primer lugar, nos hicieron esperar considerablemente para tomar nota de nuestras bebidas. Lamentablemente, la falta de algunos platos de la carta, como las zamburiñas, sopa de pescado o la gran parte de los segundos platos de pescado, no fue comunicada de manera clara por el camarero, lo que resultó en una espera innecesaria y decepcionante (tuvo que venir 3 veces a tomar nota por no haber dicho desde un principio qué platos les faltaba ese día) Además, la gestión de la temperatura del vino blanco sirvió como un recordatorio de la importancia de la formación del personal en este tipo de establecimientos.

A pesar de estos contratiempos, debo resaltar la indudable calidad de la comida que ofrecen, sobre todo si logras encontrar alguno de sus platos estrella, como la tortilla de Betanzos, pescados o mariscos. Sin embargo, no pude evitar sentir una cierta falta de equidad en el trato hacia los clientes, especialmente en comparación con los habituales del restaurante. Entiendo la importancia de mantener contentos a los clientes frecuentes, pero la igualdad de trato hacia todos los comensales, nuevos o asiduos, es fundamental para garantizar una experiencia gastronómica satisfactoria y justa para todos.

Espero que si en un futuro vuelvo, hayan podido mejorar su servicio y estaré encantado de valorar en positivo...
