I recently had the pleasure of dining at Casa Romantica on Gran Canaria with my wife, and it was an experience that will linger in my memory for years to come. It's nestled amidst the lush, vibrant vegetation that blankets the island and cradled in the midst of breathtaking volcanic mountains. The setting alone is enough to captivate any visitor. Steeped in tradition, this family-run establishment has been passed down through generations, and you can feel the weight of its legacy in every detail. The staff greets guests with warmth and professionalism, their knowledge of the menu and the island’s culinary heritage shining through in every interaction. They made me feel not just welcomed, but truly at home in the cozy, inviting ambience. The food, oh, the food! Local bounty. The vegetables and fruits burst with freshness and flavor, clearly sourced from the fertile land surrounding the restaurant. The meat dishes were equally impressive, tender and perfectly prepared, a testament to the skill of the kitchen. Every bite felt like a celebration of the island’s natural abundance and culinary traditions. Even the journey was a delight. The drive through Gran Canaria’s dramatic landscapes was nothing short of spectacular, with winding roads revealing stunning vistas at every turn. If you find yourself on Gran Canaria, do not miss the chance to visit Casa Romantica. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a love letter to the island’s history, culture, and flavors, delivered with genuine hospitality and heart. I can’t wait to...
Read moreWent here on a Wednesday afternoon 22nd Feb after getting a lot of recommendations with 8 persons for lunch. Although the servers are good and trying their best, unfortunately they are not equipped to manage big groups and high volume times. They had a large bus full of other tourists come in 20 minutes after we sat down and we had to wait over 75 minutes for our main course. The manager could have warned us that there would be delays but they kept accepting walk in customers even though they could not meet the demand. The food is over priced and average at best. The portion sizes are small and they could be categorized as a tourist trap. The location and view is great but we will never come back or recommend the place.
The manager and staff proactively waived the cost of the water and bread because they saw our frustration. They seemed well prepared and used to clients being dissatisfied. We saw other tables also having the same complaints. Very...
Read moreOur experience at this restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. We opted for the Tomas Morale menu, and it completely blew us away. The chef’s mastery of flavor, texture, and technique was evident in every dish—each bite was a revelation.
The terrace view is absolutely stunning, offering a serene backdrop that elevates the dining experience to something truly special. What made it even more memorable was learning about the family-owned coffee plantation and orange orchards that have been passed down through generations—a beautiful story that connects the food to its roots.
To top it all off, we ended the meal with a fascinating tour of the on-site museum. It showcased a variety of produce from the 21 municipalities across the island, offering a deeper appreciation for the rich agricultural heritage of the region. This place is not just a restaurant—it’s a journey through flavor, history, and culture. Highly...
