A secret, tucked away place in Albacete that was once an old farmhouse on the edge of town (and it still is on the outskirts) . A little hard to find if you're just passing through here or not a local but it is possible. It's not too far from the A3 highway and it's near the university down an old unpaved road (like most merenderos are). It may be an adventure finding it but once you do you'll be happy. The service is fast and friendly and your food arrives quickly. The food is very, very good and inexpensive (the way the locals like it). The "Patatas al Monton" are the best I've ever had (Tip: order them with a fried egg). 98% of the desserts are homemade (I like the carrot cake) and the two that aren't are done by a local bakery (not supermarket bought or frozen). It's extremely child friendly so if you have kids it's a good choice. You can eat in the old farmhouse itself (it's a small, but cozy room) or you can eat out in the terrace which is covered by foliage. It's like eating in a forest which is part of it's charm. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the men's bathroom is pretty rough and not very clean at all. This type of Spanish restaurant is typically rough in the decor and quite noisy but the price and food make up for that. If you're looking for a quite fancy dinner there are other options in the city but if you're adventurous, like to eat like the locals and looking for a cheap place to eat that serves good food in a unique environment this is the place. Expect it...

👎Value for money it doesn't deserve for almost one hour waiting to bring the starters, or for the very kind waitress to tell us that one of the main plates that we ordered (ribs) it had actually finished! 😢 I mean....come on, seriously?! We mainly went to eat ribs! (Our friends that we were with, had been there two weeks ago and they recommended it to us) How is it possible to run out Saturday lunch time??! Moreover , 5€ for a small piece of dessert (spanish cheesecake and brownie cake) it didn't really worth it, plus that my friend commented that this time the pieces were smaller.
You need to book, and next time that we will want to go as we always want to give another chance, we will really think of telling them to make a note of what we will want to eat haha....or well, if we order it and then 50 minutes later they tell us that they don't have it (as it happened this Saturday 20/09/20😳) then we will definitely say
🤔 Last time our friends they were with older people (family), so hopefully this didn't make any changes in the eyes of our busy...
