5 Oceanos — Restaurant in Alcúdia

Very disappointing experience. Terrible service and uninspiring food. To be fair to the staff there were too few of them and they were overstretched, a fact not helped by the fact that the manageress thought her role was to swan around looking glamorous rather than to roll her sleeves up and help get the customers served. Ironic that the restaurant has the name "chill out" because most of the customers were anything but relaxed. We were there for two hours and managed to get one course and a round of drinks, but we had to hustle for them! The sad thing was that the food promised much but was also rather disappointing. The vegetarian burger that my veggie daughter was looking forward to (lets face it, being in Spain as a vegetarian is a miserable experience) was sold out. She ate plain pasta instead. My wasabi tuna burger was just tuna in a bun with no discernible wasabi or any other flavouring to lift it. Ok. So I did some research before coming to Alcudia to try and find a proper chill out bar to be able to eat, drink coctails and listen to some 'actual' music. Y'know, kinda Café del mar beach chill out vibe. Hence, this evening was a little more planned and required a taxi to take us to this place a little further away from Alcudia beach. The result. Well, with the latter, a bit dissapointed. The music was definately in the right direction but only 5 tunes on a loop is piss poor. I came close to offering up my own mobile's chill out playlist. I had read that this place is supposed to have a DJ but that may only be at the weekend or previously. Great food, great portions, poor service although efficient. They might’ve taken reviews about the wait time in consideration since they were very efficient with our table. However, comes the bill and you realize that drinks are charged a different price than what is on their menu (a couple euros extra). Once pointed out they explain that it’s a mistake on their menu on their end, the right price is the one on the bill. Unacceptable and dishonest. Fix your menu, fix your mistake, don’t make me pay for it. I guess that’s how they make a couple of extra € with tourists not paying attention. Left with a bad taste and no intention of...
