Restaurante Bombay Algorfa — Restaurant in Algorfa

We've been wanting to try here for a while. Very nicely decorated and looked after internally. We ordered the €28 for 2 meal deal. Good staff and quick service. The poppadoms and pickle tray were excellent. The starters were large and tasted OK (seemed like a generic curry sauce) The house wine (we had red) was really good. The main courses were, again, quite big with lots of meat in the chicken dish. Taste wise, just not quite as nice as we're used to (maybe missing a bit more chilli in the madras?). We finished off with coffee and ice cream, with a good sized brandy too. We had to take home quite a bit of curry due to the large portions. So, very good value.

Very disappointing meal with a dish they tried to pass off as a chicken shashlik. I've eaten them in different restaurants in different countries and know the chicken isn't in yoghurt with no spices. I tried it as they had a poorly behaved table of 13 with 8 unruly kids running around so we were keen to leave as soon as possible but the chicken tasted awful. They offered to give me a real shashlik but we just ate what we had and left. Why try and fob us off with the wrong dish?

The children were loud, running in and of the restaurant and the parents did nothing to stop them. Us and another table had to move. They were extremely slow serving, another victim of the Summer tourists unfortunately.

This the best Indian on the Costa Blanca, we have been to all their restaurants, Hondon,Catral and now Algorfa..,.. the standard an friendliness is always the same..... food quality is outstanding, quantities amazing, we nearly always have to bring a doggie bag home !! Exceptional value for money... evening menu just €9.95 for 3 courses including a glass of wine or beer !! Their king prawn biryani is the best I have ever eaten, if you have never been to the Bombay and love Indian food, you are missing out...... Dave at the Algorfa branch is fab, he will always make you welcome and nothing is to much trouble .... you enter as a customer and leave as a friend, can not recommend highly enough how good this...
