Yorkshire Pud Inn — Restaurant in Algorfa

Went to this venue for an afternoon tea event during the week, which included a fashion show. Sadly the food on offer was of very poor quality, hence my star scoring. Bookings for this event were paid in advance, so management had ample opportunity to confirm numbers & ensure a quality catering experience for all attendees. Unfortunately the weather on the day led to a number of drop-outs, therefore suggesting that the skimpy portions of bland finger food we were offered, even after we requested more, would have been even more scarce had there been no cancellations! Even the coffee was a weak affair! At €12.50 per head I would expect more than two mini sausage rolls & a smattering of finger sandwiches between four of us. When we finally tracked down someone to request more food we were told that there wasn't much left, just some nibbles, most of which we left uneaten because the pastry was dry & tasteless & then after finding a hair in mine, it ended it for me! We weren't alone in our dissatisfaction, as the table for four ladies next to us had two absentees, so they asked on arrival for one share to take to a friend as she had already paid. But they were also so unhappy with the service & the food that when the takeaway portion arrived, they had to send for the proprietor to explain the pitiful offering! Visited today with friends for Sunday carvery lunch (6 of us). It was our first time here and we weren't sure what it would be like. We'll.. It was honestly superb, we had 2 courses and all came away completely stuffed..!. Main course = Selection of 3 types of meat, turkey breast, beef and ham, 4 or 5 vegetable choices, 2 types of potatoes, Yorkshire pudding of course, stuffing, lovely gravy and the best pork crackling I've had in ages. Just passing today & called in. Had pint coffee and chip butty. Hubby said chip.bilutty was well cooked and excellent. English lady very friendly and allowed us to look at the restaurant which was really clean. The loos were extremely clean and the menu varied even vegetarians can eat there.
