Sergio Megias Gastrobar is a standout dining experience in Alhaurín de la Torre, a place that strikes the ideal balance between creativity, comfort, and quality. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re welcomed with warmth by attentive, knowledgeable staff who clearly care about your experience. The food is consistently fantastic. The menu is updated regularly to reflect the seasons, offering a wide variety of innovative dishes, classic ingredients with clever, unexpected twists. The pork ribs were absolutely phenomenal: tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The patatas bravas were, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. Salads are also a highlight; fresh, balanced, and anything but ordinary. And don’t skip dessert: from the delicate handcrafted chocolates to the refreshing pineapple slices, each sweet treat feels carefully considered. What adds to the charm is the open view into the kitchen, which not only adds a layer of transparency but also reinforces the care and professionalism that goes into each plate. Portion sizes vary, with a helpful distinction between tapa-sized servings and larger shareable options. The staff are happy to guide you based on your group and appetite, and the pricing is surprisingly reasonable for the quality on offer. The interior is cozy yet modern, with a stylish, relaxed vibe, especially lovely in the evenings. Whether you’re seated indoors or on the outdoor terrace, it’s a perfect setting for everything from a casual dinner with friends to a more intimate evening out. The wine list is particularly impressive: well-curated, extensive, and a true complement to the menu. We try to visit at least once a month, and it’s easy to see why. Sergio Megias Gastrobar isn’t just a local favorite; it’s a reason in itself to visit Alhaurín...
Read moreTrying to hard to be something they are not would be my way to describe this restaurant. It's too much on one plate, and it's not really done well. We had a tapas menu, which is like the specialty but it was a bit pretentious and sub par. The final maincourse was a deepfried mushroom with something that had to be Bernaise sauce, but tasted more like glue to be honest. Also, the ambiance is a bit weird, it's has a couple tv screens that show sports and pictures of some pretty dishes (unfortunately the real ones weren't as good). Wines are really...
