New to town, this place makes you feel as at home as a chicky in an incubator. The tap beer may be Heineken, but it was uncommonly delicious. The tapas that came complimentary was a sublime squid in its ink and potato crostada. The homey bread and aioli start things off with a flavour promise that they keep. The veggie carpaccio was yum, though the tomatoes weren't the greatest, the dish itself worked like an almodovar love scene (though maybe not a Penny Cruz one (are there others?). The baccalao fritters were beer swillingly delish. Nonnas cake is a satisfying semolina slab, with an even texture, and enough canned cream to bring it and the chocolatesauce into a balance of sorts. Its all a bit ungainly, but in a way thats as charming as a limping labrador. The complimentary cocktail shooter complete with enough smoke for a Spinal Tap concert, was also great. The host and her faithful accomplice try so hard, we left a New York tip (unheard of both for here, and me). Let yourself float in here, and enjoy a very...

NO VOLVEREMOS.

I have to assume the "good chef" who knows how to cook seafood is not working all the time. We were there during a slow period (~noon, when nobody in Spain eats lunch). The bread and aoili was good, the potatoes and rice were good, and the free avocado/tomato appetizer was good. But the cod was pretty terrible. First time around it was obviously undercooked, and to fix it they just re-fired the same dish. About 30% of the cut was decent, the rest was pretty rubbery. Maybe it had been frozen poorly?

Also, the crawfish was bad. Roughly half of them were... Mushy. Which is quite odd for crawfish. The other half were acceptable.

EDIT for clarity for auto-translators: It must have been shrimp, not crawfish. Certainly wasn't lobster.

Anyway, if you go here just make sure the place is busy with locals when you eat, otherwise just get drinks.

The server was...

In all our 70+ years we have never been to a better restaurant for quality of food and service. Our reservado sign had my name on it and a small gift of perfume. The presentation and taste of all our selections were outstanding. Julia the chef cooks with love and passion, and it shows, and Jose the waiter has a fabulous sense of humour, especially if you ask him to take a photo, and he poses for you to take one of him 🤣 Our wine choice was perfect and all chosen by Julia. Our lemon aperitivo at the end of our meal and the little gifts were very thoughtful. They made us feel very special and welcomed and we wish we had more time to visit them again before we fly back to Australia. We thoroughly recommend you give them a visit. 😋😋

A fantastic restaurant with excellent fish tapas selection and extensive wine list. The quality of the food was excellent and so was the service. We ordered the homemade fish croquettes to share and mains of salmon and cod. Both were delicious. Complimentary sorbet was served after our meal and little mementos were given at the end which was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back!
