TONBO Asian Food — Restaurant in Alzira

We visited a new sushi restaurant on a last-minute recommendation and had mixed experiences. On the positive side, the duck gyozas were the best I've ever had, and the sushi was very nice. Unfortunately, the service and customer experience need significant improvement.

The staff were friendly but lacked the experience and discretion to handle difficult situations, likely because the restaurant is new. We had an issue with one dish, which was completely inedible. When I asked for it to be removed from our bill and replaced, I was told this wasn’t possible because that’s how the dish was made, and it “wasn’t their fault I didn’t like it”

Additionally, they mishandled issues related to my allergies and billing, despite my attempts to discreetly resolve the matter.

As someone who works in hospitality, I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but the situation was frustrating. We ended up paying for food we didn’t touch because they couldn’t resolve the issue, and we were running late. This disappointing experience could have been easily rectified by removing the offending dishes from our bill.

I hope these are just teething problems as they learn to handle such situations better. With improvements in customer service, and training in ingredients and allergies this place has the potential to be a...

Estuve esta noche cenando con mi pareja y he de decir que fuimos por las buenas reseñas que tenía este lugar. Pongámonos en contexto. Pedimos gyozas de pato y gyozas de langostinos, fritas al estilo chino y no al vapor. Las dos venían con la misma salsa... falta de originalidad.Por el precio me intuí que no eran caseras y así resultó.. decepción. 5 Baos, los baos todos con cama de mezclum de lechugas...eso era un sin sentido los rellenos estaban bien destacando el de pato que repetí. Alitas de pollo con salsa sweet chili y sésamo se sentía como si las hubieran hecho tiempo antes....frías estaban. Pollo Ginger añado foto, se ve quemado y sabía a quemado . Le pregunté al camarero y me dijo que casi siempre lo servían así....cosa que discrepo por lo incomestible de comer algo frito rebozado y quemado Todas las salsas que venían eran la misma. De postre tomamos Dorayaki de Yuzu y Mochis que añado que en la carta ponía 5€ con una foto de 3 Mochis y luego te cobran 7,50 porque cobran 2,50 unidad. Algo demencial. Yo no lo recomiendo ni volveré. Hay ausencia de creatividad gastronómica, ausencia de platos elaborados por ellos.....mucha pena estamos hablando de 38...

In the 20 years I’ve had a house in Spain I can name a handful of very good Asian Restaurants. You are by far the best of those. The food is excellent and beautifully presented.

Waiting staff were attentive and because we were close to them, kitchen staff kept my 7 year d son entertained.

Keep the good work up we will see...
