It's a clean and inviting restaurant but the food is poor quality, low in taste and severely overpriced. I asked for a plate of food with a side salad and received a large bowl of salad, which I sent back because it was too big and I didn't order it. But the waitress brought it back saying it can't be changed. I told her that would not have the salad if I can't have a small side salad. She came back with a small plate of a salad, still not a side salad. And I was charged the same price as if it had been a big bowl. To make matters worse the neighbouring table received a small side salad on the main plate. I tried to talk to her and suddenly the boss appeared and said he didn't care and walked away. So much ado about a side salad! On top of it the salad was super tasteless and although there are a lot of farms around they seem to buy the worst produce from a supermarket. We chose this place because it is very near to the Caminito del Rey, only about a 10-15 minute drive to the start of the Caminito and the Guadalhorce Reservoir and the other scenic attractions. ||Our room was very clean and we had a great sleep. ||We ate lunch twice at El Cruce, the home-cooked meals are very good. Their home-made desserts are fantastic. ||We are so thankful to Miguel, the owner, he was able to reserve an entry for us to Caminito del Rey. ||We were flying home to Canada the next morning, and had only one opportunity to walk the Caminito. It was the most spectacular hike and we say a BIG thank you to Miguel. ||El Cruce Hostal is the most convenient location for visiting the Ardales region, and we highly recommend staying here. ||If we can return to Andalusia next year, we will return...
