Mesón Bar La Ribera — Restaurant in Ayamonte

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Ribera, and I must say, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. While some of the food was okay, the service was appalling and overshadowed any positives.

When our waitress took our order, I explicitly stated that I only wanted tapas-sized dishes and pointed out everything I wanted. Everything seemed fine until the tuna arrived—only to be a massive portion, far from the tapas-sized plates I ordered.

At the end of the meal, I called the manager over to address this issue. Frustratingly, no one had come to check on our meal, despite there being three staff members for just ten customers. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, the manager caused a scene by summoning the waitress who took my order, seemingly expecting to argue about who was at fault.

I found this behavior unacceptable. I refused to pay for a dish I did not order, and the manager's response was, “Why didn’t you tell me when I placed the food down?” I mean, what difference would that make once the fish is already cooked? You can't uncook it or magically revert it to a smaller size.

Overall, the service was incredibly slow, and the customer service was shockingly poor. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I cannot recommend La Ribera based on...

Para quien lea esta reseña en letra muerta para su influencia viva, recomiendo este mesón LA RIBERA, porque no es cuestión de ir a comer, sino degustar saboreando. Como buen anfitrión, José Cardoso es sin duda hombre exigente en calidad para ofrecer de todo lo bueno, lo mejor. Al que tengo que decir aprovechando esta escritura que siga confiando en el personal que tiene contratado en este momento, y que si tiene que tomar alguna decisión con respecto al personal, que sea para ver otras caras nuevas junto a las y a los que ya están. Sonia Mena, cortadora exquisita de jamón, hace de su arte un placer para los sentidos con delicada sonrisa. En la cocina, Fátima El Aissaoui, que de cada comanda hace pleitesía al buen gusto con gesto amable y mirada profunda. Y junto a Fátima, Miriam Sánchez, ninguna palabra sin voz ni carne, sino con la presencia y la figura; Mercedes Martín, Yolanda Blanco, Rosario Casiñas y Yameisi Cardoso. A todas ellas, mi agradecimiento, más por todo lo que me callo que por todo lo que les pueda decir, por su atención y amabilidad. Y no me olvido de Mónica Troncoso, la primera persona que me atendió y que su sempiterna sonrisa me recordaba ese lugar al que volver para reducirme a mí mismo y volver a este restaurante por vez primera, y con ella, Loli Muñoz, Manuel Barroso y José Cardoso, a quienes valoro por la acumulación de esfuerzo, ya no solo por servir, sino tener que aguantar impertinencias cuando están saturados de trabajo. Y para que estan palabras sean la realidad presente en su existencia, añado fotos como realidad viva en la esencia de lo esencial. A todas las personas nombradas y las que no están, mi "sempiterna "gracias, por el trato recibido y las molestias que he podido causar, pues para no escribir erróneamente el segundo apellido, he preferido detallar el primero, y mis disculpas de antemano, si algún nombre no lo he escrito correctamente. The food here was truly delicious! The service was very quick, only taking about 15 min for the regular dish (frito variado in my example) to be ready, and about half an hour for the Paella Ciega de Mariscos. This is, usually, the least amount of time you have to wait for food at other restaurants, while here it was regarded as rather long, judging from the fact that when we wanted to order the meal the waiter warned us about the wait. While the Frito Variado was still good, the Paella was simply spectacular. All of the portions were big, as (granted after the entree in the form of the Frito Variado) the Paella was enough for 4 people to feel full, and the Frito Variado was huge for only a portion per one person.
