Restaurante Can Colom — Restaurant in Banyalbufar

Honestly I never do this but I didn’t really enjoy this place. It’s ‘diner’ type food, basic and very heavy. I waited over an hour for any food - and mine came more quickly than others because I had to catch a bus and so they kindly sped it up. The couple I was chatting to on entering didn’t get any food for probably an hour and a quarter. The staff brought nuts to 2 other couples because they waited so long, but not the people who didn’t complain.

The beef in the burger itself is nice, but it comes with 2 potato wedges which were stone cold and kind of hard/undercooked, and the same mayo as the onion which I don’t think is homemade. The owner / manager is pleasant and kind so that helps and I appreciated that. The views are lovely. But really just not great food - I got the recommendation from the owner of Son Borguny (closed on Saturdays) which surprised me because their food looks really high quality. Maybe my expectations were high because I came from Maristel in Estellencs which has similar prices and the food is stunning.

Go to Es Forn d’es Casino instead - the staff are delightful, attentive and brought me a choice of wines to try and free olives....

The best burgers we have ever eaten, with fantastic presentation. I had the pulled chicken, and my partner the beef. We chose to accompany them with a delicious tomato salad. The view from the terrace is fantastic, and we ate our dinner watching the light fade over the sea. The local Syrah wine was very smooth, and a perfect accompaniment to the burger.
