Bar Cafetería La Cadiera del Somontano — Restaurant in Barbastro

We stopped by while driving through town. Very happy with that decision.

We ordered a stew each, wine + lemonade (typical of the region), and russian cake to share for dessert + cortados.

The staff was incredibly friendly. They didn't speak much English, but took the time to explain their menu options to us (they wrote them down on paper for us to use a translating app), despite being busy.

The stews were DELICIOUS. The meat fell off the bone in the best way, and the stew was richly flavoured without being too salty.

The wine was the type that you would mix with lemonade, and was very cheap. The lemonade was 0 calories, which I appreciate, but obviously it left the aftertaste of all artificial sweeteners.

I wouldn't get the russian cake again, but it was cheap, hit the sweet spot, and the serving size was huge. The cortados likewise hit the spot while being well priced.

Everything together was around €25.

The atmosphere was very homely. Lots of loud and happy locals.
