I like when people gets creative without caring about “whats on” in all other places in town. They say they are a natural restaurant, they really do cook natural. They cook as they want and they cook very nice! We’ve started with a Panizza, a fried chickpeas dough with smoked sardine and pickled onion, very nice. Some toasted coca bread with tomatoe and a nice roasted garlic pure. Fried chipironed (kind a small squids) with caramelised lemon also very cool combination. Their bravas are also nice! Different and italian way as the chef is! Then we’ve had a roasted pumpking with parmesan and curry, i didnt know that those two were such a good friends, thank you guys for leting us know! The maitake were so original and very tasty! The onion was good, probably the one we like less but still was good, and finally as the salty side we’ve had the rosted bonemarrow smoked with rosemary and steak tartare, the best for us!! So nice, tasty, greasy with the smoky punch!!! The desserts were also nice and original, liked soo much the texture of the pumpking! To comment the wines, they were so nice!! Liked so much the rioja and the Merla! Thank you guys we’ll definetly come...
Read moreDon't get me wrong the food is good here and is fresh, homemade & well elaborated. The sauce for the razor clams was tasty and aromatic. The curry hummus too went down well. The mains including chicken cannelloni and shrimp fettuccine were tasty. The red wine from Penedes (A Pel Negre) was excellent. The yogurt mouse & tirsmisu were good. Service is fine albeit workmanlike. The atmosphere is good. The main issue for me is that it's expensive in relation to the size of the portions, the plates could be a bit more generous.Just because the food may be organic doesnt mean to say it should be alot more expensive. In addition the plates of cannelloni were both served lukewarm and not piping hot so they were sent back to heat up more. If there was better ratio quality price and attention to all details I would give a...
Read moreWe came across Mala Hierba after a visit to Park Guell. The neighborhood of Gràcia itself (minus the park) is very low-key; tourists rarely walk these streets, so it was nice to see people going about their daily life. Mala Hierba is tucked away in a quiet corner with mostly locals eating here; menu of the day is 20 euros or so, but leaves you full and most importantly, satisfied. The service is exceptional; our waitress was so kind, and someone who I suspected was the owner (or manager) stopped by after every dish to make sure we had a good experience. All in all a highly recommended place to eat at, and what a pleasant dining experience that lasted for a...
