I had the most exquisite dining experience at Can Cortada restaurant that I can't wait to share! The lovely terrace, illuminated by charming London-style street lamps and surrounded by lush greenery, set the stage for a truly magical evening. This spot is perfect for a romantic dinner for couples, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere.

Our waiter, George Brown, provided exceptional service, making sure we felt pampered and well taken care of throughout the meal. We kicked off our culinary journey with refreshing vermouths on the rocks, setting the perfect tone for what was to come.

The Escalivada appetizer, featuring caramelized goat cheese on a bed of grilled peppers and toast, was an absolute delight. The flavors harmonized beautifully, making it a memorable start to our meal. My main course, the lamb slow-cooked in the oven for 12 hours with potatoes, onion, and tomato, was nothing short of extraordinary. The tender lamb practically melted off the fork, and the combination of flavors was simply divine.

My dining companion opted for the beef tenderloin, also slow-cooked for 12 hours, served with truffled potato cream. This dish was a true standout, earning a well-deserved 5-star rating for its impeccable taste and presentation. We paired our meal with a good bottle of red wine, enhancing the flavors of our already delicious entrees.

Can Cortada has earned a spot on my list of special places to take friends and family when they visit Barcelona. From the impeccable service to the outstanding cuisine, this restaurant truly exceeded all expectations and delivered a dining experience that will be cherished for...

Yesterday was the second time I visit Can Cortada, the first one was a business lunch and yesterday I came back for a more intimate dinner with my partner and friends. In both times, the restaurant greatly surpassed my expectations.

Just for the place where the restaurant is I think is worth it. It is an extraordinary castle with classical Catalonian architecture with and interior design accordingly decorated, for you to have the chance to understand the interesting history behind (and, in top of that, we got the restaurant manager, Christian, to explain to us its history!).

Regarding the other aspects of Can Cortada, I have also been very satisfied. About the food, both times were good, but specially yesterday as we tried the specialties of their menu (instead of the first time where we had a close-menu for the whole group) such as the stone-cooked meat or their homemade ham croquettes. I also encourage foreign people to come, as they offer a curated selection of Catalan and Spanish dishes that well represent the local cuisine.

As for the service and the personnel, excellent. It’s true that the restaurant is not cheap, but I can assure you they don’t skimp in waiters and, clearly, these waiters achieve making you feel like at home.

PD: This is actually my first review of a restaurant. I don’t usually write reviews but this restaurant truly got into me and provided me a great experience (both times), so I decided to write about it and share it with the community.

I strongly recommend that you try it. Good job Can...

I heard that calcots were the thing to do when it’s in season so I was on the hunt to find the best restaurant with a beautiful setting. I came across Can Cortada and the photos looked so amazing. This restaurant was built in the 17th century and apparently is a popular venue for weddings. The calcotada is a set menu for about 39€. It includes unlimited wine, water and soft drinks. My friends ordered cokes but they didn’t bring the cans. I think they use the big liter bottles of coke because it was kind of flat.

A bib, gloves and tons of napkins are provided. The romesco sauce is one of the best sauces I’ve ever tasted. Peel the outer layer of the calcot and eat the white part dipped in the sauce. After the calcots, the servers brought out a very hot plate of meat - chicken, blood sausage, rabbit, butifara, lamb ribs. I was pretty full at this point.

For dessert we were served creme brule and complimentary shots. Upon receiving the check, the server accidentally overcharged for one extra person but it was immediately...
