Mandarin Palace — Restaurant in Barcelona

Disgraceful completely, it is not my first time I eat here, been numerous times in the past 6 years(because of the food, most certainly never because of the service as it is equal to 0), 99 percent served by the lovely Spanish waiter, this time our "lovely bosses/managers" interfered and of course it was equal to disaster (completely surprised)! Our dear lovely sushi/Chinese restaurants, if you are not aligned with your team, don't throw it to the guests, it's not nice! First agree what are the rules within the restaurant, and then choose lovely, peaceful, professional way of approach! Having in mind there was only 1 table outside, YOU DON'T CHOOSE to change the rules and be disrespectful with the guests, a guest that is frequent visitor won't escape without paying! I don't know what kind of experience you have in hospitality in your country where you come from, but most certainly it doesn't work like this in Spain!!! (Probably taking advantage of the fact there are many tourists so you think you are entitled to any kind of behaviour)!

If you have problems with being nice and kind, then don't work in a restaurant! Thanks god your food is delicious, otherwise with your attitude you don't achieve your goals and most certainly you don't grow a successful business in long term! A simple smile and being flexible it is more than enough in any occasion, something that obviously you are not used to (with all due respect to your Spanish colleague who is an exception, but most certainly doesn't have a say in your weird, quirky way of behaving with clients!

EDITO COMO RESPUESTAS: El problema es precisamente el punto 2, que es lo que intentaba explicarte, sin éxito, porque estabas gritando todo el rato sin atender a razones: no, el "cabreo" no era porque no tengáis bufet (de ser así, nos hubiésemos ido al saberlo), el "cabreo" era porque tenéis tapada esa frase con la servilleta. Eso es lo que simplemente te dije bien la primera vez y en lo que te insistía, pero como no escuchabas, pensabas y sigues pensando que el problema era que no había bufet. He visto más reseñas en la que se habla, con razón, del mal trato que dais. Lo que no podéis hacer es responder ante una queja -sea o no justificada- con esa soberbia y mucho menos, pasado el tiempo, volver a la mesa a seguir discutiendo. Te aconsejo, como ya te dije, que no tapéis con la servilleta lo de "no hay bufet" y que no insultes a quien te lo diga.

La encargada es una mal educada, sencillamente. He ido por recomendación de alguien que ha ido otras veces a hacer bufet. Nos sentamos y me fijo que las servilletas están puestas de una manera nada convencional, en horizontal sobre una parte muy concreta del mantel de papel. No le doy más importancia. Decidimos hacer bufet como han hecho otras veces la gente de la mesa. Conseguimos ponernos de acuerdo en todos los platos. Cuando vamos a pedir, una persona de la mesa levanta la servilleta por casualidad y ve la frase "no tenemos bufet". Curiosamente, la servilleta tapaba casi al milímetro la frase, en todos los manteles y todas las mesas. Nos sorprende y preguntamos a un camarero si es que han dejado de hacer bufet, que no sé por qué, en lugar de confirmar que no hay bufet, llama a la encargada. Ella nos indica que efectivamente no hay bufet y le planteamos la posibilidad de pedir todo lo que ya teníamos anotado y decidir sobre la marcha si hacemos menú o carta, dependiendo de la cantidad de platos que cojamos finalmene. Nos dice que mejor lo decidamos ya. Nos cuesta horrores volver a decidir cómo lo hacemos, se acerca de nuevo la encargada a responder una duda de un plato y aprovecho para decirle, simplemente, que no deberían tapar con la servilleta la frase "no tenemos bufet". Aquí ya se le ha ido la pinza; ha empezado a gritar, primero que si no sé leer (tal cual) porque fuera ya pone que no hay bufet desde junio; le digo que es la primera vez que voy y que ni siquiera soy de la zona, que no voy a estar yendo cada día a ver si han dejado o no de hacer bufet y que sencillamente me habían dicho que era bufet y en el sitio donde mejor se va a ver (mantel con QR para ver la carta) sale tapado. Me dice que si es que tiene que anunciarlo a toda España. En varias ocasiones coge la servilleta y con gestos violentos la cambia de lado diciendo "mira, te pongo aquí la servilleta para que no te lo tape a ti". Tras estar un rato se va. Cuando ya había pasado todo porque la dejo como imposible, vuelve y me dice "ven aquí un momento". Le pregunto qué narices quiere y me dice "enseñarte el cartel de fuera". Le digo que me deje en paz, que lo que quiero es que no lo tape en el mantel con la clara intención de hacer que la gente empiece a pedir un montón de cosas pensando que es bufet -como ha sido siempre hasta hace 8 meses- y encasquetarlo como carta -con precios elevadísimos, por cierto-. Y como sigue gritando ahí es cuando decidimos irnos. Pagamos la bebida y ella sigue gritando; la dejamos pegando gritos desde la caja y nos vamos. From the start the waiter already expect that we know what we will order but we don't know. it's our first time there. We asked for the menu, but he threw the paper on our table and said scan the picture so we can see the menu.So rude.

The food is at our table but still no fork and knife. We asked the waiters 3times before it arrived.

The food is okay. Don't order spicy chicken or beef. It's too salty. 👎 Just get the normal order. Some of our order arrived very late, we almost finish eating. We followed up our orders 4times.

Then the desert. The waiter so rude again explaining what dessert they serve. If he only speak louder a little then we can understand. In the end I ordered ice cream on the stick. It looks like a mini magnum Which you can buy on supermarkets.

Overall bad experience. Some waiters are really rude. The owner should teach them how to treat well your customers. Its not only the restaurant you represent but also your country.
