Food was fine. Decent solomillo and nice risotto. Generous serving of brownie for dessert. We ate outside, as it was a lovely evening. A few cars passing but generally quiet. Inside looked lovely. Situated in the village, the sound of children playing nearby gave a homely feel. Friendly staff. The price of a very small glass of wine at 4 euro was disappointing. A second glass, poured in top of what remained in my glass was even smaller as the server just brought it up to the original level again despite there already being wine in the glass. A small point, maybe, but disappointing nonetheless. A bit pricier than our local Italian Restaurant in Orba village and, to be honest,...

The manager is not that smiling, but the rest of the staff is nice. However, the food was extremely disappointing, very average taste for the expensive price. They first brought us the wrong thing, then replaced it. Then one of the items we got was uneatable, they did not charge us! This was appreciated and is the only reason I leave 3 stars instead of 1. For an Italian restaurant the pizza are well below average, and they don't have hot oil, they brought me some kind of tomato sauce. Definitely don't go there for the Arabiata nor for the pizzas, or raviolis for that matter. They heated the pesto and it released all of its oil. A real rookie mistake! Not the real deal...

I base this review on our first visit and rate it 5 stars because everything was flawless - and we feasted on several things at the heart of which was an aged beef chuletón. We selected our cut and then nibbled on deliciously creative croquetas while the chef perfectly grilled the meat with veggies. Their pan de pueblo is a must with swirls of pesto in it. The server was attentive, friendly and knowledgable, helping us choose an appropriate wine for example. Everything was flavourful, nicely presented and obviously made fresh with passion and quality ingredients. The Fireball as a digestive capped off a splendid dining experience. Looking forward to...

Located in a small, relaxed town of Beniarbeig, “Basilico” is an adorable tavern offering Italian food with a Spanish twist. A lot of its proposals are a success - the bread with pesto is brilliant, and risotto with vegetables is earthy and soothing. Pizzas, on the other hand, are something else - hard and thin dough, swallowed by layers of cheese and toppings, could be confused for “cocas”, if they weren’t so completely heavy. It’s a shame, because otherwise, it’s a place with a real soul and promise.
