PARADISO — Restaurant in Benidorm

The food at the restaurant wasn’t very good at all. I had a vegan spaghetti- which was overcooked spaghetti with vegetables which were barely cooked and then drenched in oil, there was no sauce and no flavour- it was one of the very few vegetarian things on the menu. My friend had chicken and vegetables- her vegetables were also practically raw, her chicken was dry and cold and the sauce on the side was congealed. We were the only ones in the restaurant to begin with, and as people came in, they put them on tables directly next to us despite the variety of tables available elsewhere. This made us feel like we couldn’t have a proper conversation or were conscious of being too loud. The waitress who served us was difficult. After each item we ordered, she passed comment on our food choices. She then went on to speak Spanish and tell us “this is what the manager is saying about you and I’m not even telling you what it means”- which was just very strange to say the least. She gave me a casual compliment about my makeup at one point and when I returned the compliment, she acted disgusted and told me “don’t say that”, which was also rather odd. She kept coming over to the table before our meal arrived to talk to us about disjointed nonsense and seemed rather hyper, which made us uncomfortable. On a slightly more positive note, the manager of the restaurant that night was very polite and accommodating and the waiter who showed us the menu from the street was very welcoming. Never have I ever been served something as absurd as the lamb chops in the photo I’ve attached. To say I'm unimpressed would be an understatement.

My immediate thought was "did they feed this to a dog first and now I'm getting the leftovers?"

It’s disheartening because I've been to Paradiso at least five times before, and the portions and service were always commendable, but today? Today was a different story entirely.

I have no idea what's going on in that kitchen, but what I experienced was downright mediocre. I'm only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because my family's meals were decent—but it seems I was simply unlucky. What I received for nearly 30€ was mostly bones, with barely any meat to speak of.

The service? Equally disappointing. After taking our order, the staff never once checked in to see if we were enjoying our meal. When it came time to pay, I had to flag someone down for over 10 minutes before finally going inside to find one of them. A girl finally came over and simply asked if I wanted to pay with card.

No pleasantries, no concern—just a cold transaction. I left feeling utterly disregarded. I had to eat from my family's plates just to avoid having a meal of fries, salad, and a few sad bones.

Paradiso has lost me as a customer for good. While other dishes might be fine, I strongly advise against ordering the lamb chops. The final bill was over 120€ for 3 adults...

Outstanding Experience at Paradiso Bar Restaurant Terraza, Benidorm

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Paradiso Bar Restaurant Terraza in Benidorm, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Alice and the team made us feel incredibly welcome, offering top-tier service that was both warm and attentive without being intrusive.

The food was simply out of this world. We started with a schwarma kebab and calamari, both cooked to perfection, setting the tone for what was to come. For mains, we enjoyed two perfectly cooked fillet steaks and the mixed meat skewer, each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail were evident in every bite.

Dessert was a real treat – we indulged in cheesecake, tiramisu, and chocolate fudge cake, all of which were beautifully presented and deliciously rich. To round off the evening, we had coffees and a brandy, which was served with the kind of care and presentation you rarely find these days—it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time!
