Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the Santutxu metro station, Chevichazo Peru is a hidden gem that delivers an authentic taste of Peruvian cuisine in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We stopped by for a light dinner and left thoroughly impressed.
We started with a classic ceviche, which was nothing short of delightful. We asked for it to be spicy, and it arrived with just the right amount of heat—bold and zesty without overwhelming the freshness of the fish. The citrus marinade was well-balanced, and the dish was topped with just the right touches of onion to keep it vibrant.
Next came the Yucas a la Huancaína, a traditional dish of cassava with a creamy, slightly spicy cheese sauce. The yuca was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside—while the sauce added a comforting richness.
The atmosphere was warm and genuine, enhanced by traditional Peruvian music playing softly in the background. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. Service was fast, the portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices were more than fair for the quality and care in each dish.
Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and full of heart. Chevichazo Peru is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a flavorful, affordable, and authentic Peruvian...

Advance reservation, several days ahead, arrived PUNCTUALLY on the dot. No comments on the food because after a 90 minute wait, we got a couple of appetisers but after 2 hours were told to leave as there was no more food , and they had nothing at all to serve us !!! Unbelievable but true. ...a first!
So on the street at 16:45, not having eaten after a wait of 2+ hours - having reserved several days in advance!
NO alternative was offered, they charged us FULLY for whatever drinks and the partial food we had been served (Drinks accompanied by peanuts that we went out to buy ourselves in view of non appearance of food).
They ruined a family celebration. Avoid.
NOTE: Now the restaurant is LYING and saying we arrived LAte!! This just gets worse...

Also my wife says she had the best lemonade in her life here - it was made from fresh fruit. A very memorable dinner with great food and excellent...
