Read more5th June 2018, 5 people We live in the area and like value for money. There are so many good restaurants about, this one is trying to be up market but misses out. Service slow, arrived at the table and ordered drinks, 2 gin and tonic 2 rum and coke and water for the driver, came quickly were large and a small glass of gazpacho was a nice touch. 15 mins and we ordered the meal and white and red wine. An hour later the starter arrived still no wine but we had the small table arrive to put the wine on. After we finished the starters and trying to catch the wine waters eye, it was another 15 mins and it was given to us very nicely, the bottles put back on the table and we never had a visit to top us up. I guess we could have asked for it to be put on the table, I actually prefer that but we thought if it was there way, we'd go along. Another hour and the main arrives 3 lamb and 2 pork, the pork was lovely with a wonderful sauce but a very small portion. The lamb was much larger but very tough, not so much pink as not cooked. At one point the head water came to ask if everything was alright, we were fair but did complain about various and he soon sloped off without saying much. The deserts were fabulous and we said jokingly that if we came again, which we won't, we'd have starter and sweet. If you got this far well done, I think it is the sort of restaurant that if you are lucky with choices and get a good water you could have a great evening, we were unlucky. Not worth the price. They also allow smoking and dogs, we had both on two tables next to us didn't help. Not a patch on Christain's...
Read moreLocal dining in a upscale feeling surrounding that caters to the more monied residents in a mostly residential area of West of Calpe, in Canuta de Ifach.
I've been visiting the restuarant for the past 3-4 years, and had the various tasting/set menus including chateaubriand, which comprised of one too many mousse / cream type dishes. The highlight of the meal was however very much the chateaubriand finished to order on the open top griddle in the middle of the restaurant. I saw one review that mentioned leaving feeling hungry, without context, and i can say without a doubt that the set/tasting menus which offer the most value and are well portioned (larger than "tasting" menu portions) if that it was concerns you!
