Disappointing Service Despite a Decent Meal

My partner, sister, mum and I visited the restaurant last night with a reservation for 19:30. When we arrived, we were asked which language we preferred for the menus. We requested Spanish, but the waiter didn't have any available and left us standing awkwardly while he went to find some.

We weren't happy with our table placement, as we had a small dog with us and were seated right next to another table with a much larger dog. We asked to be moved, and from that moment on, the Italian waiter seemed to develop an attitude toward us.

The printed menu was quite limited, but we eventually noticed that additional options were displayed on a large, two-metre board that staff had to carry from table to table. It looked heavy and awkward to handle, we couldn't help but feel sorry for the waiters, having to drag it around throughout the evening.

By the time we ordered and had our starters, it was already 20:00, and we then waited over an hour for our main courses to arrive. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, and with five kitchen staff, the delay felt excessive. Eventually, the barman, John, came over to apologise and explain that all food orders had been sent to the kitchen at once. He was very sweet and clearly sent over to soften the situation, unlike the original waiter, who was short-tempered and unwelcoming, and the waitress, who didn't seem friendly or approachable either.

We were eventually offered a complimentary bottle of wine after we subtly mentioned we'd been sitting without drinks due to the delay. The food itself was nice, but unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the meal.

Si percepisce chiaramente la passione con cui viene gestito questo ristorante. Anche l’ambiente è molto curato: sia all’interno che all’esterno, invita a fermarsi e rilassarsi. Anche se la serata stava finendo e il ristorante stava per chiudere, saremmo voluti restare ancora più a lungo – ci siamo sentiti davvero a nostro agio. Wir hatten einen rundum schönen Abend im Restaurant Ferone in Santa Ponsa. Obwohl das Lokal sehr gut besucht war, hatten wir nur kurze Wartezeiten – das spricht für eine hervorragende Organisation und einen aufmerksamen Service.

Das Zürcher Geschnetzelte war super lecker, perfekt abgeschmeckt und zart. Die Seezunge war hervorragend gegrillt – außen knusprig, innen wunderbar saftig. Zum Abschluss gab es ein Lemon Sorbet mit Wodka, das den Abend perfekt abgerundet hat.
