Extremely Disappointed – Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service

I’ve been a loyal customer since this place opened, but today’s experience was beyond disappointing—it was downright shocking. After waiting nearly 25 minutes to be served, we watched as five or six tables were attended to before anyone even acknowledged us.

When the server finally approached, he began taking our order but abruptly walked away mid-sentence to serve another table behind us. He then went inside to check on that customer’s request, returned, and started taking yet another table’s order—all while we were still waiting to finish ours.

When I politely asked him to complete our order, he dismissively walked away, speaking Spanish under his breath. I followed him inside to clarify what was happening, only to be ignored again as he took yet another order from someone else.

Even the staff member behind the counter seemed confused and embarrassed by the situation.

This level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. We left without ordering and will not be returning. A place that once felt welcoming now feels chaotic and inconsiderate. Truly...

Lovely cheap and cheerful café bar. In the mornings, they don't have a menu to look at, they do large or small baguette toast, (tostada) sandwiches (bocadillo), egg, bacon, cheese, jamón, jam, butter, orange juice, pate (sobresada) etc. Coffees with milk, black with ice in the summer (expect a cup with coffee and ice DIY style). Sometimes in summer it can get crazy busy! We've waited 40 mins or so before, but you need to relax to Spanish timing here. All the waiters are lovely, some have very little English but try thier best. Top tip: during the week, if there is no festival/holiday, just ask for the menu del día, they'll give you the written slip of paper to choose what you like (which is in Spanish) 11€ for 2 courses with a drink like a beer and a dessert or coffee. Such an awful experience. We were staying a 10 minute walk away and never returned. The food was bland, tasteless, poor presentation. The worst of it was the service. The staff all but threw the cutlery and placemats on to the table (touching the top of the cutlery while doing so) - to add the cutlery was dirty. Bad attitude from the waitress in general. The male staff member sauntered around addressing every table but ours - we waited 45 mins minutes for the bill and asked 4 times. Had to go inside to finally settle - with 5 staff members having conversation inside as we did. Probably the first time in my life I have not tipped.
