Bar Alfredo Castro Urdiales — Restaurant in Castro-Urdiales

Had a quick stop in Castro Urdiales for lunch, and found this spot by the bay with an amazing view of the port. It was a little windy that day, but the weather was impeccable to enjoy some great quality seafood. We were 2 and ordered a bunch of things. I ordered a warm salad with grilled shrimps, fried baby squid, boquerones in vinegar, grilled clams and scallops. The food here is of great quality, super fresh and very well cooked. The fried baby squid (chopitos) were crispy and so tasty with a few squeeze of fresh lemons. The boquerones are very famous in the north, so it was not surprising that I loved it. The service was also great. The servers were very attentive, and the food came out very try quick. The restaurant seems to be always very busy, yet they still have great service. Highly recommend, it was a 10/10...

ES ACOJONANTE : Entras y haces cola, pues Castro está saturado , y somos tan listos de ir al puerto todos . Te atienden como si fuese gratis y no tienen tiempo para darte una explicación sobre los variados pinchos, tapas y raciones. Si pides ticket (obligación) o pagas con tarjeta y quieres tu resguardo .....mala cara . Pero lo acojonante de verdad es : SALES A P. Un auténtico clásico en Castro Urdiales, con mucha fama ganada por muchos factores, la ubicación, el servicio, la tradición y, sobre todo, por la comida. Una barra muy bien surtida de pinchos, de lo mejor del mar, aunque unos precios un poco elevados, pero vale la pena por la calidad que ofrecen. Lo único que no entiendo, siendo de lugar donde ponen tapa con la bebida, como la gente es capaz de apretarse los vinos o las cervezas sin un triste aperitivo. Digo yo, ¿Cuándo van a Granada o a León o a Madrid, dejan los aperitivos que les ponen con las consumiciones?. Habrá que...
