I do not recommend this place at all. The quality was low. I put more effort into writing this review then they did in their service and food quality.
A few highlights:
The patatas bravas were undercooked / raw. I requested that they cook them more - they refused.
Croquettes - watery inside. Normally, the batter is thick.
We were served a dirty plate.
The mixed salad for €14 was romaine lettuce, canned corn, canned asparagas. This is very typical for a Spanish mixed salad but this was grocery store quality.
We ordered the €90 seafood plate. The clams were detached which could signal that the shells were reused, or canned. The shrimp were not properly cleaned so had the dirty, black lining inside, all the seafood was flavorless. We aren't sure how this was even possible?
All garlic was pre-cut but flavorless.
The sangria was terrible! (Or, they said, it was a tinto de verano - either way, terrible).
Honestly, after the disappointing appetizer, we should have cancelled our order. We ultimately ended up paying €160 for a family of 5. It would have been nice to enjoy anything - something about our meal. One star for the company at the table - we enjoyed each...
Read moreWe sat down and Julio was very direct and confusing. He asked us what we wanted to drink and we let him know that we just came to eat! He reacted poorly to us not getting drinks.I started to look at the menu and the prices were expensive, but we were ok with that. I then started charging my camera battery in one of the outlets nearby and he told me I am only allowed to charge it for 10 minutes b/c he has to pay the electricity. It would cost pennies for me to use it for hours and hours but he is wanting to charge me 35 euros for a small plate of fish! That is when we decided to leave before ordering and professionally let him know we did not want to eat there. He then aggressively said “good luck finding somewhere else to eat”, and we shortly did 😂. All around Julio is an aggressive, hostile, rude and unfriendly human who is very uneducated. The food might be great but we have no idea. I would NEVER eat food from an individual with that kind of manners even if it really was the only place...
Read moreService: Fair to good. Not bad considering place was packed and the waitress was dancing as fast as she could. Nice waitress.
Atmosphere: Packed. Noisy. Upbeat. Casual. As expected.
Food: Not good. Had waitress recommended "grilled" seafood plate for two - $38 euros. A mixture of clams and mollusks of different sorts, scallops, and prawns. No fish, crab, nor lobster. Problem was primarily the prawns - overcooked to point of being pasty, not grilled. Rest of seafood not special in any way. These comment are specific to this dish. People next to us had different items and praised the food. This was our 11th night traveling in northern Spain., eating at 8 different restaurants - all 4's and 5's. We are not food snobs. We eat tapas at "hole in the wall" bars as well as highly rate Michelin restaurants. Check out El Ramo or El Faro in Cudillaro - very different settings and food. ...
