Oasis Chill Out Restaurante — Restaurant in El Rosario

Positive: The views on the balcony are nice, staff was quite attentive and they served water in glass bottles (although the still water was from Spain mainland). Negative: The green salad I received was seasoned way too salty and in combination with the pimientos de padrón which also were seasoned with a lot of salt, the overall salt content of our dinner was just way too high. We are vegan, and asked if we could get some olive oil with our bread instead of the butter, which they seemed to understand but never brought the olive oil. The papas bravas were quite oily and tasted of fried fish, and the sauce we received was quite surely not vegan. We thought of sitting inside the restaurant because it was quite chilly outside but indoors, it smelled quite a lot frying fat, so we stayed outside on the balcony. They have a small pool as decoration on the balcony, but it is quite dirty and seems to not have been cleaned in quite some time. Half of the dishes on the menu were not available and crossed out, but we were handed a hand written menu in addition to the few items that were available from the main menu. We arrived late one evening and picked up a couple of local beers. Very good beer and even better service. And the love story of the following week started. The two guys working in the bar, and as waiters are sweet, smiling and welcoming. The following day we went there for dinner, and was served a fantastic traditional canarian meal, ending with a traditional barraquito (which is so well made that you won't believe it till you see and taste it). We went there for coffee or food every opening day the following week (Tuesday is closed). Whether you want a proper local beer, a very well made coffee, fantastic service and cozy atmosphere, or a perfect made meal, canarian or Italian risotto - this is a place worth visiting. Besides the beyond good service, food and atmosphere, let's not forget the crazy view over the ocean and mountains. If you are even close to the area, go here - you will be in for a treat.

I will miss this place, but will be back if I ever get the chance.

Pad Thai was a bit different then I'm used to, but less salty and overall good, portion was big enough. The risotto is overrated price wise, 25€ and it is far from enough for two people - it seems big, but it's an optical illusion.

The restaurant does not offer many options so not best suitable for larger groups especially if there are children involved.

The pool is dirty, but the view towards the ocean is stunning. The location is pretty good.

To be honest, we expected a bit more, but there were not many options in that area on the late Sunday afternoon, where could be easy to park on the way back to the South...
