We arrived at Sa Verella by reccomendation from Ana Luisa. Initially we wanted to eat paella at her restaurant but without a reservation we did not stand a chance. The restaurant is at the end of the promenade, very quiet with a beautiful view of the harbor, small cave , very clean bathroom. We were a party of four and wanted mixed sea food paella, the owner said they do it and set the table for us. The paella was not on the menu, the price was same 19 euro /person, which seemed fair. The service was amazing and very quick, we got our drinks immediately and shortly after, the paella was served . Beautiful and delicious with a lot of sea food : mussel, razor clams, shrimp and cooked bell pepper on top and bits of calamari, octopus and mussels mixed with the rice. My partner wanted to see what else we can try from the menu and the cook's reccomendation was sea bream menorcan style. It was very very well cooked and indeed the potatoes are to die for. The owners finished the meal for us with digestivos on the house: 4 shots of lemon sorbet with a bit of menorcan gin , followed by 4 shots of mango sorbet with a bit of orange peel liquor. This was the most incredible desert/ digestive you can have!!! I truly hope more people will find the restaurant and enjoy the beautiful food and service from Sa Verella, we would...
Read moreWe were sitting in the restaurant next door having a drink and trying to decide where to go for dinner and Sa Verella next door has lovely wine glasses set up on the table so decided to go there. The wine was lovely. Sat for a while deciding what we wanted and opted for the garlic prawns and the calamari followed by steak which comes with chips and vegetables and a separate Roquefort sauce on the side. They came to take our order - they don't have calamari - why didn't you tell me that when I sat down ? Prawns were lovely but not worth €15. The sirloin steak was nice. The chips were awful. Soft and soggy. Decided to go back the following night but only because the pizza restaurant was closed. Still no calamari. Aubergine parmiagani and prawn cocktail were nice. Opted for the chicken and Google translated that we wanted the chips well done as they were soggy the night before. Chicken was lovely. Chips were slightly darker in colour but still soft and soggy which the server put down to them being made with fresh potatoes. Not true - you can make crispy chips with fresh potatoes. Namaste next door were serving delicious looking calamari - wish we had...
Read moreWe were looking for a special place to eat on our last night in Menorca as it was my wife's birthday so chose Sa Verella based on the look & feel of it when we walked past one evening. The reviews also looked great (thanks Caroline!). The service was great, the atmosphere lovely, and the food was delicious - so a great choice for our final meal out. We had whitebait & razor clams to start and most of us had fish for mains - I chose the baked Sea Bream which was really good - moist fish, great potato and peppers and vegetable bed beneath the fish (looked better than the photo suggests!). Desserts we chose were crema catalana and Tiramisu. A really great meal enjoyed by all 5 of us. ...
