Venta El Perejil — Restaurant in Estepona

Nice location for us because we live less than 500 metres way........but the owner needs to see how overstretched his staff is! We experienced terrible, disgusting service, no eye contact betweeen any of the waiters/waitresses to get drinks etc even before we ordered our food!. We waited 1 hour for a glass of red wine!! It’s a shame because the owner is there but he does not see what is wrong! The Food was bland......we were not offered their original menu we were given a new quick cook food menu......and one of our group still waited an hour for his food with no apology! My pork was dry and tasteless and I was not offered a sauce, service was non existent (its not the fault of the staff as there were so few considering it was full) the owner has not given the staff any training so you can’t blame them they are only there to earn a wage. I really wanted to like this place…

The food was just a total miss. Sometimes, great prices don’t justify bad food. My fish was gone off. The vegetables were out of a packet. Even fries were undercooked. The burger will take you back to the days where a cheap patty was slapped onto your school lunch tray. Even the extra slices of cheese were stale.

It’s a shame because it’s such a captivating location, and the exterior is beautiful. The interior too, has its own Spanish authentic charm. Staff are just OK. But, after seeing some other reviews about how poorly they’re treated, it does make some sense.

I went for evening meal a week ago , I remember the day , it was my birthday ! I sat in the patio area , I was ignored by the 2 waiters for about 20 minutes although they had both caught my eye through the glass at different times , eventually a menue was put on the table when I was looking elsewhere , I was not asked if I wanted a drink .
