When you are in Marbella, do yourself a favour and visit this small restaurant!
We spent an evening at a table for two, and it was truly an amazing experience. The menu is something quite different from many other sushi places, and I would like to suggest that you ask the chef for his recommended dishes - you won’t regret it!
The blend where the sushi meets styles of taco, burrito etc, creates a mix of flavours and a new, inspiring sensation - It’s fun, the food looks great, and it definitely tastes great!
The location of the restaurant, as well as the interior, creates a calm and down-to-earth atmosphere - there is nothing stressfull within these sorroundings. The background music is calm and relaxing, without sounding like elevator music, and you sit right next to the area where the chef(s) prepare your food. Also, you won’t have to wait long for your food to arrive.
What’s better than to sit down, order a ice cold bottle of Japanese beer, exhale and smell the lovely food being prepared.. perfect!
And when you are done with the appetizers, and the main course(s), you MUST try the Tiramisu! It is unbelievable! I have never tried anything near to the version they make and serve at JapanTaco; if it was up to me, I would have eaten so much of it, that I would have rolled out of there haha! It is so good, try it and enjoy every single spoonful!
I hope you found this review helpful - I just wish we had more days when we visited Marbella, if so we would for sure have come back to JapanTaco!
Thanks for an amazing and very enjoyable evening when we visited your restaurant!
All the best,

Read moreIf you need to get to the restaurant, you can either walk, cycle or take a taxi because finding a parking is close to impossible. I have to say that I don't like restaurants that use Plastic Plants to decorate their surroundings and this place regrettably did. I like and respect the fact that they specify that they serve Fusion Japanese cuisine with a Mexican touch but not having a menu and having to use my phone to read a small script made me give up as I couldn't relate nor comprehend the logic of their Fusion. There were a few pictures and asking the waiter to explain in English was somewhat difficult as he wasn't very bilingual. Nevertheless , we placed an order for 4 dishes. The crab salad was an easy 10 out of 10 but the Avocado Dip with the Seaweed crackers wasn't really bad. The Fusion Tacos with Salmon was interesting as was the one with spicy Tuna. The last dish was Tuna Rolls wrapped in sweet Bananas really wasn't all that great. The service was really good and very friendly. The choice of songs and music was really good. It was a Valentine evening but nothing was committed, not a decoration, a Balloon or a Heart or a special valentine dish. It's a shame that they are not creative and I have to add that it wasn't price worthy keeping in mind we had no wine. Regrettably not worth visiting again. I did note they did well on...
Read moreWe came here on the last night of our holiday as it was not far from us. The food was really impressive and the sushi tacos really lived up to our expectations. The price of the food is reasonable, I’d definitely say some items are much better value than others but sushi can be a pricier meal anyway. It’s a good middle ground for price but high end quality food. The service was also amazing and super friendly. I will say I’ve seen some reviews criticising the setting of the place which I assume must be old from when it first opened as the first thing I noticed was how cosy the place was with lovely lighting. Definitely was the perfect way for us to end our holiday and we will 100% be back and recommending to friends. For anyone curious about portions, for two people we got one starter, one nigiri (2 pieces), two sushi tacos and one plate of 8 maki rolls. We also shared a tiramisu and we were completely stuffed so it was the perfect amount of...
