Oh what a meal! From our first entry from very friendly staff, to brilliant recommendations and knowledge on the menu, the experience was delightful from beginning to end. I wish we were staying in the area for longer as we would be back again and again. Firstly, the location of the restaurant is very beautiful. The outside terrance is along a beautiful archway of stunning medieval houses, with a perfect view and amazing lighting as the sun draws in. The starters we ordered were stunning. Between five of us, we shared two of the truffle waffle patatas bravas which were such a delight, with an incredible touch of truffle flavour and ample sauce over the top. The calamari was the best we have had since being in Costa Brava, with a great selection of sauces around the side and excellent batter and such a fresh taste. For our mains, the flavour and expertise for flavour was indescribable. The scallops were expertly cooked, very meaty and with an amazing soft bed of smooth mash. My partner and brother adored their beef tataki, with the beef cooked to the best I have tasted, stealing a bit off their plates as it was too good not to!! The staff at this restaurant are super super friendly, I cannot fault anything and they even provided some complimentary limoncello and some liquor from a neighbouring village of Pals, which was so so nice and we appreciated greatly. We adored this meal with Restaurant El Borinot. Very reasonably priced. Amazing quality. Amazing service. I recommend to anyone visiting the area. Exquisite food, it is very evident that there is someone in the kitchen very professional with a great desire to do things right without shortcuts: the Chef and the management are very attentive to the quality of the ingredients; all dishes were superb: bread with Jamon Iberico, Brie and anchovies = phenomenal; fresh and expertly seasoned salad; crusted shrimp with guacamole = spectacular; patatas Bravas=gnammy; chicken fingers and rabbit skewers= state-of- the art ; clean bathrooms and efficient and fast customer service, very courteous. Gran desilusión...

Después de leer las críticas positivas que había sobre este restaurante, decidimos reservar en él. Desde el recibimiento fue una desilusión total: llegamos y nadie nos atendía, después de 7 minutos en la entrada y tras haber intentado varias veces - siendo siempre ignorados - con los camareros que pasaban para que alguno nos mostrarà nuestra mesa, finalmente conseguimos que uno de ellos nos atendiera. Revisa nuestra reserva y nos pide seguirlo. Entramos al salón y se da cuenta que no hay mesas disponibles, da un giro de 180 grados y regresamos a la puerta de entrada. No nos dice nada, simplemente discute con otra persona del staf. 20 minutos más tarde, nos pasan a la mesa, nos dejan las cartas y no vuelven. Intentamos varias veces que alguien nos atienda, pero obtenemos siempre el clásico "ya vendrá mi compañero a atenderos"... 45 minutos después de la hora de nuestra reserva, aparece una chica que nos dice "por lo menos os tomo las bebidas...". Le hacemos patente nuestro disgusto por el mal trato recibido y nos dice que teníamos que haber venido antes, pues atienden según se llega... A los 5 minutos llega el camarero, le volvemos a comunicar nuestro disgusto, pero no muestra ni el más mínimo remordimiento ni se disculpa. 1 hora después de nuestra reserva, nos llegan las bebidas. A partir de ahí, la comida (poco a poco). Fuimos los últimos en salir del restaurante y viajábamos con niños, por lo que estos retrasos no son de recibo.
