Fabulous lunch by the beach at La Fragata. Extremely fresh ingredients and delicious food at an unbelievably reasonable price. Highly highly recommend for a leisurely lunch or a celebratory dinner.
We ordered the Formentera salad and padron pepper to share as starters and the Lobster paella 🦞 🥘 everything was great, but the standout was obviously the paella. A whole fresh-from-the-tank lobster, fresh, sweet, red prawns, mussels, clams, tiny shrimp - an umami galore. The portion was so big we barely finished half.
The service was friendly, speedy, not in haste. The lady serving our table was very nice to stop us in our way of over ordering (very tempting menu). Even offered to box up the leftovers for takeaway!!
Price? Crazy. Best meal during our trip. Practically walked out with 2 meals at €124 for two people. Insane value for money (or idk maybe London is completely distorting my sense of what’s reasonable, especially when it comes to food).
100% would go back.
Tip: call to book in early!! They don’t do same day bookings and do not have walk-in availability. The place is that popular for good reasons. For lunch they have 2 sittings, 1300/1500. We mixed up the times and arrived at 13:30 and they were kind enough to have saved our spot. Don’t make...
Read moreExtremely poor experience. My wife and I walked in on a Monday evening and were first met with friendly faces. Upon requesting a table, we were asked to wait for another individual to seat us. The restaurant was largely empty with a few patrons at tables scattered throughout.
The individual led us to a table at the very back of the restaurant in a corner with absolutely no view or ambiance whatsoever - literally no exaggeration the worst seat in the house. Meanwhile, countless tables surrounding this in many areas of the restaurant (including right in front and next to) were vacant. Normally, with no reservation, maybe a limited seating arrangement might be suggested? It was very disappointing and felt targeted. Why treat patrons who just want to enjoy a nice dinner so poorly?
We left immediately and found much better dining elsewhere. This spot should be...
Read moreVisited the restaurant for lunch before our boat back to Ibiza in the afternoon. After a picturesque drive in the scooter to the door, we entered and were seated at a table downstairs, with a great view of the beach.
We ordered padrón peppers, the Formentera salad and lobster paella. The peppers and salads were good, but by far the standout was the lobster - highly recommended!
With the understanding that Formentera is, in general, an expensive place to visit, the value at La Fragata was fantastic. The bill came to €124 euros, slightly cheaper than equivalent meals in the island, but with exceptional quality and a hefty portions.
The customer service was also fantastic. The he value, quality food, and scenic location make this a place I’ll definitely visit again I’m ever back...
