When we arrived as we had a reservation there was a group ahead of us who didn’t have a reservation and were asked to wait. we got in and they gave us a table by the bar and in the corner even though the other tables were free. Before seating we asked for one of the other tables by the windows and the waiter said they were reserved but I knew for a fact when you make the reservation you don’t get a choice and you defiantly are not given one. The waiter disagreed. Funny thing though. After being seated though the group who didn’t have a reservation who tried to get a table before us was seated at one of the tables at the window. Incredible. It does not leave a good impression when you almost get in an argument on arrival with the waiter because he is lying to you just so he doesn’t have to seat you where you prefer. It is also true what the other poor reviews say. This restaurant only exists because it the only one. So as usual with anywhere that doesn’t have any competition they don’t need to worry about what the client actually wants because there is always someone behind who doesn’t know better. Though from being in business this restaurants days are numbered unless they get better management which is client orientated and not just number driven oh and a better menu which is a little lacking. Come to the beach in your boat/car etc but not to the restaurant. YOU have a choice! Go elsewhere.

Ve...

The location is unbeatable. Cala Saona’s turquoise waters and red cliffs feel like a private paradise, and you can step into the sand in under a minute. Sunset here is nothing short of magical—the sky melts into shades of pink and orange, and you feel like you’re on the edge of the world.
Everything feels curated to enhance relaxation, from the crisp linens to the subtle design touches that echo Formentera’s effortless style.
The restaurant deserves a special visit. Fresh, beautifully prepared dishes highlight local ingredients. We felt like we were eating at a Michelin starred experience with the set menu, exquisite wine pairings and incredible service.

Read moreThe Sol restaurant is in the bay of Cala Saona in an excellent position, open terrace in front of sunset, sober and stylish furnishings, it promises what it as not kept in practice. The table service is discreet and professional, the menu based on fresh fish shows some very expensive dishes in relation to the raw material used (1 euro per mussel seems too much to us) it was inviting but it was what we wanted; let's start with a few delicious appetizers, because our attention is captured by a seafood paella with squid ink and we decide to order it. Really inviting except that it was inedible due to how salty it was! We didn't finish the dish and at the waiter's request we pointed out that it was impossible to finish it because it was too salty (inedible). We were disappointed when the room manager wanted to convince us that he was normal because:"The broth he uses, being restricted, is a bit tasty!" so what!!!!??? Considering that both my partner and I cook with a certain skill and know and appreciate good food, in a restaurant that makes the local product its philosophy, at least that has staff in the kitchen who know how to exalt it and treat customers well, apologizing if needed, proposing something else to eat because we paid and went back to the hotel on an empty stomach! If you are in Formentera on holiday willing to pay to eat well, do not book a table in this restaurant.
