So disappointed! Booked this and clearly asked about it being child friendly as we bring our daughter to restaurants all over the world. They said yes but " no high chairs, no childrens menu."Neither are an issue for us but the vibe was clearly" we don't want children " then just say it! When I ENQUIRED about changing my booking to lunch rather than dinner, I was sent a short email " your booking has been cancelled" so rude! We eat in amazing restaurants all over the world, I did think this restaurant menu was pretty boring and frankly the competition is non existent. It wouldn't take much more than a chef with a bit if imagination to knock this place of the water. Guys its a bib , not star!! Don't let it go to your head. Next time I'm in town happy to have cook off I'm very confident I'd knock you clean...
Read moreEven though we were just looking for a coffee, we ended up having a 3 course lunch here, just because it was so awesome. From the perfect service of the owners of this place (speaking easily more than 4 languages) to a really nice atmosphere, we really enjoyed our time here.
Unfortunately the terrace was closed due to the cold weather in late November but sitting inside was just fine with nice touches of wood everywhere.
The best though was probably the food itself with a great selection of different foods on the menu, everything interesting and a bit off the beaten track. I chose a Tomate tartar with goat cheese as a starter and had a venison stew with sweet potato and celeriac as a main. Everything was just great!
Would definitely come back every time and wish the owners all the best...
Read moreI have to say…if 10 stars were available it still wouldn’t be enough. I first discovered this restaurant during my 30 day stay in Gaucin, it took me 21 days to get a reservation. And I have to tell you it was worth the wait!!
The atmosphere is intimate, the service is immaculate and the food is absolutely out of this world. I now live in Soto Grande and I still make the trip to Gaucin at least once or twice a month to take in the experience.
I have taken several friends for lunch being from the US, Poland and the UK and they have all been as equally impressed.
My favorites are the the Wine choices followed by Beef Carpaccio, Rack of Lamb ending with the Gnash and Praline ice cream.
