Aitxu Satistegi — Restaurant in Getxo

Without a doubt, this place has the BEST croquetas in all of Bilbao. My wife and I ran into this place by a blissful accident since we were meeting friends in the area. Beyond amazing. Our eyes light up when we talk about going there and always have at least 2 croquets each. If you want sitting space, try to go before the weekend rush. The attached picture was taken on an early Thursday afternoon and I was lucky to catch a great view of the river/marina. The pinchos were 1euro for a long time and just recently went up to 1.5euros. Ill start off with the price, it is very cheap for the amount of food you get. 15 Euros for a starter, main and a desert.

The starters were fine.

The main dishes were absolutely horrible. We took the cheese steak and the fish. The taste felt cheaper than a fast food hamburger for me.

Desert was decent.

The waitress was great tho !

Dudosa forma de cumplir con las normas del Coronavirus. Ayer Sábado 19 de Septiembre por la noche acudo a este sitio y al acercarme a la barra me dice la camarera que si no tenemos donde sentarnos no nos pueden servir. Eramos dos personas. Pregunto si es por temas de aforo y me dicen que solo pueden servir si tenemos taburete. Hasta ahí todo bien. Pero cuando vamos a salir del bar vemos que hay gente tomando algo de pie en la barra y yo pregunto ¿por qué hay gente que está de pie y nosotros no podemos? La camarera únicamente levanta los hombros y por detrás se escucha a otro camarero decir ‘es la ley’. Salgo del bar con la sensación de que me están tomando el pelo y vuelvo a entrar a pedir explicaciones. ¿Por qué puede haber gente de pie en la barra tomando algo y yo no?, que a mi entender es o todos o ninguno. Y la respuesta de la camarera es que de los diferentes grupos de personas al menos uno tenía taburete para sentarse. Es decir, grupos de 5 personas donde 4 están de pie y uno sentado ESTA PERMITIDO. Nosotros dos NO. Insisto en que entiendo perfectamente que no podamos estar de pie en la barra, pero O TODOS O NINGUNO. Parece que en este lugar tienen diferentes...
