Restaurante la tasca nuestra — Restaurant in Granadilla de Abona

After many bad meals in Tenerife this was definitely the worst. The restaurant is in a new industrial unit, so no atmosphere and terrible acoustics. The menu is very basic, cheese and tortilla done 10 different ways, one chicken dish and 4 pork dishes and a couple of salads. The service is very amateurish and slow, I ask for mayonnaise and it took 10 minutes and was inedible. They had one bottle of dry white wine, not one type, one actual bottle, and it was terrible. The chilled sleeve was warm, and the ice bucket when it arrived was half the size of the bottle.

The food is truly awful. We started with baked fresh cheese, which was hard and tasteless and served with a sweet jam. The croquettes came next, dry with almost no flavour, and served with a sweet fruit mayonnaise that was like strawberry yogurt, disgusting.

Then came the meat, overcooked and dry chicken in a very sweet sauce with dry and congealed couscous. The smoked pork was very dry and tough and came with a sweet apple jam. The pork with goats cheese was also overcooked and dry and served with a sweet fig jam.

Do you see a trend here? Everything is sweet, and horribly so. Except the desert, the chocolate and vanilla thing which was the texture of jelly and bland and nasty.

This is one of the most amateurish and terrible restaurants I've ever been in. Nothing was edible, even the bread was overbaked and hard. And the service is terrible too, it took 10 minutes to get the bill. I really don't understand the...

Naja. Die Rezessionen lassen Besseres vermuten. Das Gute zuerst: Der Service ist bemüht und präsent. Die Freundin hatte Schweinelendchen mit Ziegenkäse und Feigenmarmelade und war hellauf begeistert. Und es ist möglich, die Rechnung nach Familien aufzuteilen. Nicht unbedingt selbstverständlich auf der Insel. Das war es dann aber schon. Bei der Anfahrt stellt man fest, dass man gerne ein geländegängiges Fahrzeug haben sollte, denn Parkplätze auf der Straße sind Mangelware. (Zugegeben, das ist häufig so suf der Insel, führt also zu keinem Sterneabzug). Entweder hat man ein Fahrzeug, welches einen sehr hohen Bordstein bewältigt oder man sucht den sehr nahen "Naturparkplatz" (mit tiefen Bodenwellen und grossen Steinen versehen) auf. Im Lokal angekommen, wird man freundlich vom Angestellten begrüsst sowie von nackten Wänden, die eine Akustik wie in einer Bahnhofshalle haben. Eher ungeeignet für eine Unterhaltung in normaler Lautstärke, die man mit Freunden gerne führen möchte, wenn man gemeinsam essen geht. Die Speisekarte ist nur digital verfügbar. Kennen wir aus Coronazeiten, aber die sind vorbei. Damals gab es auch WIFI in jedem Lokal. Hier Fehlanzeige, pro Tisch gibt es 1 (i.W. ein) Tablet, darauf kann man dann die elektronische Speisekarte abrufen. Wir waren zu fünft (5). Toll, wenn dann nicht jeder ein Handy / Internetzugang hat oder haben will. Die Karte listet in bunten Bildern auf, was man bestellen kann, und dann gibt es noch eine Sektion ausserhalb der Karte mit kanarischen Klassikern, wie z.B. Ropa Vieja. Fehlanzeige, laut Servicekraft ist die Karte nicht aktualisiert und die Gerichte sind nicht verfügbar. Also zurück zu den bunten Bildchen. Die Auswahl für die Vorspeise fiel auf weissen Käse vom Grill mit Bananenmarmelade (Käse lauwarm, nicht cremig in der Mitte, Bananenmarmelade superlecker), Teriyakihünchen mit Couscous (Industriesosse, geschmacksneutral, und Couscous, da kann man kaum was falsch machen, Reis wäre besser gewesen aber man will ja Fusion anbieten), und Huevos Rotos mit Papas Fritas (kaputtes Spiegelei mässig gewürzt, mit Pommes die zum Teil aufgewärmt und zum Teil innen noch roh waren.
