Where to start on this one.......

It really doesn't matter how impressive the restaurant looks or how pleasant and attentive the staff are, if the basic ingredients of the food are cheap and nasty then you are not going to get a great review.

To disguise the dubious ingredients everything is smothered in one sauce or another, usually at this place, an abundance of pumpkin sauce.

Within just a few kilometres of the major fishing port of Santa Pola you would expect the sea food to be much better.

Our selection of scallops, prawns, cod and turbot, in the starters and main courses that we chose were tasteless.

I have never had prawns that didn't taste like prawns or scallops with such a strange texture before. I am completely confused as to how these things can be cooked so badly.

To sum things up........ 2 hour's wait for the main course of perhaps the nastiest cut of cod and the most horrible scallops and turbot that we have ever had with the eye watering price of almost 130 euros for 2 beers, 2 starters and 2 main courses that were so disgusting that they couldn't be eaten.

Awful!

And because I told the waiter that the food was horrible he wanted me to comment on it. Like I hadn't wasted enough time and money.

Thank you for your reply. I come from an extended family of restaurant owners, I know the workings of restaurant kitchens and the pressure that the hard pushed chefs are under.

Despite that I broke my own rule of ordering fish and seafood on a Sunday. It's my fault.

Fish and seafood are best ordered during the week when it is more likely that a restaurant has received a fresh delivery.

I accept that you only use the best ingredients. The problem is the way that those ingredients have been stored.

The prawns and scallops had been frozen and thawed once too often. Perhaps by the wholesalers and not the kitchen staff. This affects the taste considerably.

The waiting time of 2 hours was not to finish the meal, it was to be served the main course. Ordered at 7:30pm and arriving at 9:30.

There are some dishes that you know you will have to wait for and would be concerned if they arrived too quickly. Fish and seafood are quick to cook.

Your restaurant looks lovely and your staff are very pleasant. However, I got the impression that they would have liked to see the food coming out of the kitchen quicker too. They looked like they wanted something to do.

As the food was not of a reasonable standard the price charged was...

Let's delve into the culinary adventure that awaites you this time. I opted for the chicken with mushrooms(chicken cutlets, it's called, I think). I was met with unexpected surprise darlings. This dish, I feel, is undoubtedly crafted for those with a refined palate. I say this simply because the array of unique flavors she woven into this single dish is just astounding. Each bite offers a symphony of different tastes and textures. She gives you a delightful blend that keeps your tastebuds guessing which sensation is more captivating. If you're one that seeks an adventurous journey through a multitude of flavors, then ordering this dish is an absolute bloody must, you got that? Now, you know my feelings on that bread, a sinful indulgence, is an absolute necessity. This restaurant is our staple every time I visit Spain. If you seek an experience that's both satisfying and tantalizing, do not deny your tummies if you're around Guardamar del Segura. You will surely thank me later

Wow Stupendous food, service, etc.... We visited this place several times, while here. I highly recommend it. If you are ever in Guardamar del Segura and want delicious food, then this is a place you must add to your list of eateries. Everything cooked was truly luscious and moreish, and the presentation of the food 👏 Omg, the Red Sangria

I had the menu of the day, being a vegetarian and not seeing an option for vegetarians as a main I asked the waiter if the Chef could make something for me. He went to ask and came back to ask me if I ate eggs and cheese, I said yes. He went back to the kitchen and when he was out he told me the Chef could make me a vegetarian crepe. I was very happy for their flexibility. I had previously messaged them on Google maps beforehand to ask if they had vegetarian dishes and they replied saying that I can just tell them when I got to their restaurant. The food was exceptionally good. When I was finishing my crepe the waiter asked me if I had enjoyed it. The Chef was super friendly too, she asked me again if I liked the crepe which I totally loved. She put two boletus croquettes on top and the crepes were filled with fresh broccoli, mushrooms, dried tomatoes among other veggies. They served some delicious olives after we ordered our drinks, then they brought warmly baked seeded bread with tomato and truffle topping I think, the cream was so smooth and tasty. Then as a starter I had a pumpkin soup which was a Michelin star ⭐️ dish I would say. This is a must try restaurant if you are in Guardamar. Thank you for your flexibility and creativity Chef. The ambiance was also great, fresh roses on each table. A candle in the restroom with sanitary pads. An eye for detail in many aspects. The homemade limoncello was the best limoncello I've ever...

Wonderful and welcoming... I booked a table for 9pm for me and my wife we arrived on time and we were seated outside by the lovely gas fire whilst they cleared the table the restaurant was full and had a good mixture of clients and the atmosphere felt nice. The service and the attentiveness of the staff was very good very accommodating and always smiling. The menu was abundant with a good selection of cold and hot starters and a nice selection of mains to suit all tastes and preferences and the cocktail menu was very appealing so we had 2 (Mango Mojito Moscow Mule) which were 5 star!! We chose the Tuna tartare and the salmon tartare for starters and steak and duck for mains. The starters arrived and we were amazed, the freshness and the taste was brilliant I had the steak which was cooked to perfection my wife had the duck which was cooked very nicely but she felt that it was over powered by the sweet sauces and berries. The portion sizes are good and we only had enough room for one dessert, which was a beautiful cheesecake with a white chocolate and blackberry sauce the price reflected the quality of the food and service which we believed was very fair and reasonable.

I booked a table for 9pm for me and my wife we arrived on time and we were seated outside by the lovely gas fire whilst they cleared the table the restaurant was full and had a good mixture of clients and the atmosphere felt nice.
