As a customer who has been too the restaurant on quite a few occasions mainly when we get visitors from the UK past visit's have been really nice the food great great customer care. But unfortunately we visited on Friday 14th June yesterday in fact . The food was absolutely nowhere as good previous to that visit. We took our good friends we had steaks which are not cheap but the quality was absolutely awful I had a fillet of which I would of questioned if it was that cut of meat!!! I also had mashed potato which was cold and hard lumps in!! The boys had Rib eye that was just as awful 😞. I really thought that I would never had to write such negative post in the past it been a great experience. I know that they were closed for a while for refurbishment so we are not sure if they had a new chef. Unfortunately we are your typical English and didn't say anything more so because we didn't want to embarrass our friends. The bill was not worthy of the meal and we will not be coming back .
Thank you for the reply Tipsy Terrace. But I thought this platform was for "reviews" wether good or bad. As I said in my first review we was with friends and we didn't want to embarrass them by complaining. My friends plates were empty because we bagged the steaks for our Fur baby's we paid a lot of money for poor quality food but we certainly wasn't going to leave them on the plates. As for your really unprofessional manner of replying to my review surely after your "so many years" of cooking food you should accept good or bad. I can assure you as a restaurant owner your attitude will not bring you many more customers that reads this. Good luck for...
Read moreThe food was exactly as expected based on the menu and previous reviews—overpriced pub grub with nothing to justify the hefty price tag . However, what truly soured the experience was witnessing the attitude of the waitstaff toward guests arriving without a reservation. Seated near the door, we had a front-row view of the “attitude” exhibited by the front of house staff. Those without a booking were met with condescending tones and dismissive treatment, as though they were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Having worked in the industry for years, I can confidently say this reflects a distorted culture where the operation takes precedence over genuine hospitality. Edit: Readers will also note that the owner responds to all less than glowing reviews with defensive attacks. A quality Restauranteur takes on board constructive...
Read moreHusband Andy and I went to Tipsy Terrace today (25.12.19for Xmas lunch. We were greeted with Buck’s Fizz and the our starters, tempura prawns which were delicious.
We had a short break and then the Xmas lunch arrived. It was everything a Xmas lunch should be with succulent turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. All the veg you could possibly want was there together with mashed potatoes plus my favourite, bread sauce. It was great. Unfortunately, there was so much that we couldn’t finish it, let alone attempt the Xmas pudding we’d ordered or the mince pies. However, the really helpful staff bagged it up for us and we will have our Xmas pud this evening. We couldn’t find fault with anything- it was truly terrific and we would recommend this wonderful restaurant
Thanks for making our Xmas day a hit. Chris...
