We wandered across to Restaurant Parrufu after intending to lunch over the road at Quatre Vents and finding it closed. It ended up being quite fortuitous.
It’s a cosy restaurant, focussing on seafood with plenty of gluten free options and English speaking staff. They also have quite a few meat options for those that aren’t partial to fish.
I started with the salted cod salad and progressed to the lobster paella, then the creme Catalan for dessert. My fiancé had the cured sausage salad, lamb and flan for dessert. We shared a half bottle of wine, large water and had 2 coffees, a fortified wine and bread with our meal. The total damage was €70, which wasn’t too bad in my book.
The food was quite enjoyable and felt more ‘authentic’ than other places I’ve visited, though I deducted a star due to the level of salt. I’m a renowned salt lover, yet even I found the level of sodium a little too overpowering. I was guzzling water for hours afterwards.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and I’d be happy to try it again given the...
Read moreA lot of expectations and all met: service and quality are outstanding. The place is not the most fashion in the area but the inner lunch room (out of the 3 they have) is very well decorated and comfortable.
All seafood seem to be good, but the Blanes small shrimps and the fried calamari were spectacular!
Prices are not cheap but it comes together with their fresh seafood and first quality meats they serve.
Wines price below average (which is rare to find) and desserts menu is massive, so make sure you spare some space, especially for the house speciality: the "parrufet"!
