Bollullo Beach — Restaurant in La Orotava

The restaurant is hidden away after a 800m drive down a narrow secluded road to the very secluded beach. It’s worth it! You will be met with some of the best food on the island, all freshly made and paella plated in front of you, and decorated cleanly with authentic details. It’s clear produce and drinks have been sourced locally as possible.

Salads are fresh light and delicate. Views are amazing, intimate and relaxed being so away from the hustle and bustle of main tourist hotspots.

Staff and friendly and welcoming. Parking is 3€ if you only go to the beach, so less than the price of a coffee, and fair enough as you will be parking on private (restaurant land). Parking is free if you eat in.

Yes the road is bumpy, but sometimes it’s ok to sacrifice some smooth tarmac for real food. All the more for the sense of adventure and unique experience visiting this place. Well worth the visit. It was the best food on the island, so much so we went twice in the last 3 days of our trip.

When we visited and at the time of writing this, place was just 6 months old, so any faults noted by others I’m sure will be ironed out by the great passionate team. Hemos ido a comer allí, queriendo estar en un sitio con buenas vistas. Y es lo único que vale la pena de este lugar. Nos dieron a elegir si queríamos sol o sombra en terraza cubierta y escogimos sombra porque desde esas mesas también teníamos buenas vistas.

Nos sentamos y el camarero que estaba en esa zona, de lo peor que he visto en mucho tiempo. Y lo digo con coherencia ya que yo me dedico a la dirección de restaurantes por toda España.

Se puso a limpiar mesas donde no había ni gente ni platos o copas que recoger. Teniendo mesas que atender como la nuestra (llevábamos 15min esperando sin ni siquiera darnos la carta). Le llamamos que cuando pueda que viniera, nos dice que si con tono chulesco. Veo que sigue sin venir y limpiando mesas vacías (las mesas vacías no se quejan) Lo volvemos a llamar y se da la vuelta y con mala cara y malas formas, nos dice: que ya voy señora!

Sinceramente nos queríamos ir, pero era tarde para buscarnos otro sitio para comer. Además, de que a la otra terraza llegó una mesa de chicas a tomar algo y fue corriendo y sonriente a atenderlas.

Menudo profesional. Pa ligar tienes el Tinder. El trabajo es trabajo.

Viene sin decir nada y nos limpia la mesa con mala gana, hablándonos con tono de: "no me toques las narices" nos dijo que si queríamos beber o comer, le dijimos comer y nos dice: "que quieren" , a lo que le dijimos que nos trajera la carta que como le íbamos a pedir...

Nos trajo la carta y nos montó la mesa. Cuando vino a cogernos la comanda le dijimos los platos y la bebida. Hasta ahí normal, aunque se le seguía notando sus malas formas.

Nos traen lo 3 entrantes sin la bebida ni el pan, empezamos a comerlos para que no se nos enfriará, a los 5 min nos trajeron la bebida. (EN LA FOTO SE VEN LOS ENTRANTES SIN BEBIDA)

De la comida, puedo decir que nos encantó las croquetas y las puntas de solomillo. Nos trajo un solomillo que no habíamos pedido y se lo devolvimos porque queríamos las puntas. Nos dijo que cocina se había equivocado, me sonó a qué nos mintió y se había equivocado él, pero todos somos humanos y nos equivocamos. Se lo dije de buenas formas que no pasa nada, que esperábamos. El carpaccio de """wagyu"""", una estafa. 2 litros de aceite, le ponen LECHUGA!!! Donde se ha visto eso? Y también mozarella cortada en 4 trozos gigantes. Fatal.

Comimos, pedimos la cuenta y nos fuimos.

Está crítica no es ni siquiera para ese chico, es por si lo ve el dueño del restaurante, que sepa que un empleado te puede echar a perder la clientela o directamente el local. Soy de Tenerife y sé perfectamente el nivel de hostelería que se exige aquí. Y que hay muchísimos profesionales u otros que no lo son tanto pero quieren aprender. No vale la pena estar aguantando malos trabajadores.

En conclusión, no vuelvo ni lo recomiendo a nadie. Una pena enorme, porque solo por las vistas ya la gente va, pero para pasarlo mal no. Tienen suerte de que se mantenga por los turistas que lo visitan y les da igual un servicio que otro, y para tomar algo seguro que es uno de los mejores sitios. Pero con personal como ese, se van a ganar...

The location is very nice, with a great view to the sea and the food was decent. However, two of us ordered fish (i think it was fish of the day) and it tasted HORRIBLE. It literally tasted like puke. I think they cut it wrong and cut the bile and then it spread throughout. Hundreds of small annoying flies were gathering around us because of the fish and we couldn't really enjoy the food. When we told this to our waiter he quickly dismissed us saying flies are normal because of the bananas (we didnt get flies anywhere else) and the fish was fresh (which ok, but it was poorly prepared)

However, the waiter in general was quite nice!

The place is also quite overpriced. For octopus we paid 17€ and the portion was definitely not filling.
