Bollullo Chiringuito — Restaurant in La Orotava

Chiringuito Bollullo Beach is a beautiful and secluded black sand beach on the north coast of Tenerife, with picturesque views of the ocean surrounded by scenic cliff faces and rocks. The black sand from the volcanic ash of Teide is very smooth sand which is perfect for relaxing on the sun and walking to and from the waterfront (unlike other beaches which have many pebbles). Being more out of the way meant that the beach was relatively quiet compared to the beach in Puerto de la Cruz.

The beach itself had a lovely café (with a couple of vegetarian options such as Spanish omelette) with toilets nearby. Bottled water is available to purchase for the walk back and they also serve ice creams which was a big bonus for us while chilling in the sun. You can buy coffees, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages which are great to enjoy whilst overlooking the picturesque view of the beach. The café is situated in the shade of the cliff which for some may be ideal to get out of the sun for a while too. The staff were very friendly and we would recommend checking this place out if you’re planning a trip to the beach.

We stayed in Le Paz in Puerto de la Cruz and were a moderate walk away – approx 30 minutes and can be quite a climb in parts so be sure to bring sensible footwear and bottles of water. The walk took us through a banana plantation and more picturesque views from crop farms with lots of local wildlife along the way. Would definitely recommend the journey to this beach as it is worth the effort...

Un lugar al que siempre querrás volver ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Estuvimos de vacaciones en Tenerife y un día fuimos a este sitio simplemente a tomar algo… y salimos encantados. El ambiente, la terraza con esas vistas increíbles al mar, y sobre todo el personal, hicieron que nos sintiéramos comodísimos. En especial Fabián —creemos que era el encargado o el gerente— fue súper amable, cercano y encantador.

Nos gustó tanto que, el último día, con muy poco tiempo antes de coger el avión, decidimos volver. Cuando Fabián nos vio llegar, se alegró muchísimo, y nosotros también. Lo que iba a ser una parada rápida para tomar algo acabó siendo una cena maravillosa. ¡Cancelamos nuestra reserva en otro restaurante solo para quedarnos allí!

Durante la cena, pudimos disfrutar de una puesta de sol espectacular. Las vistas eran mágicas, de esas que se te quedan grabadas para siempre. Y como broche final… Fabián le preguntó a mi pareja si quería dedicarme una canción. A los pocos minutos, sonó por los altavoces de la terraza una canción dedicada para mí. Fue un detalle precioso que jamás olvidaremos.

Si buscas un sitio con alma, buena comida y personas que de verdad te hacen sentir especial, no lo dudes: este es el lugar. Sin duda, si algún día vuelvo a Tenerife, me encantaría regresar y ojalá que estuvieran las mismas personas. ¡Gracias, Fabián, por hacernos terminar las vacaciones de una forma...

I was charged twice for the same bill. An attempt to explain the situation with the restaurant ended with a middle finger in a WhatsApp response. I do not recommend this place, and I am filing a chargeback for the transactions. This is probably not the quality this place prides itself on.
