Restó René — Restaurant in la Vila Joiosa / Villajoyosa

We went to this restaurant 3 times in a 7 day stay. It is for those who love life, love good food and of course good wines, which is also reflected in the restaurant's motto - Vive, Siente y Come. We also tried tasting menus and a la carte food. The food was every time very good, some dishes show a lot of creativity, the flavours very elegantly combined, the pairing with excellent local wines very well chosen. The service was exceptional. The food here is unbelievable. We came to benidorm with friends and won’t lie, we are food snobs. We left out friends and came here as reviews looked nice and it did not disappoint. The food is incredible! Speaking to the owner how is it made too made even more sense as to how the food is so good! The care and quality is that of a Michelin star restaurant. Our first visit we had 6 starters, 2 mains and 4 deserts between the 2 of us. And the wines are stunning! The staff are lovely people and the owner will come talk to you about the food and area and he gave us some baileys type shots after dinner while we chatted. Such a great meal at Resto René to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. George, his family and team have established the best restaurant in Villajoyosa. The food is delicious, with some real imagination and attention to detail. The wine list is excellent, personally and well-researched. The atmosphere is lovely; great view, tables so well spaced that you have the buzz from the restaurant but also privacy and space at your own table.
