We came here to find an unexpected festival in between winding down and soon to be winding back up. Even with the unexpected activities serve was fast and efficient. The tomatoes were as fresh as can be as there are all over the region at this time ,June, people sitting next to us seemed to getting grilled meats and a portion of batatas bravas with more aioli than batata! They did finish it so I would say they liked it. Sitting on the border of Rioja and Basque Country gets you great food and wine! We stumbled in here tired and hungry having just arrived in Laguardia one Saturday in January. We waited at the bar sinking local Rioja Alavesa by the glass until a table became free. What unfolded was a spectacular gourmet feast of incredible tomato salad, tinned white asparagus from Navarra, tangy local goat’s cheese with walnuts and the best presa ibérica of my life. 3 glasses of wine later being well fed and watching the world go by of locals coming and going, we felt lucky we had found this little corner. Trato estupendo y productos expectaculares. Merece la pena perderse por las mágicas calles de Laguardia y degustar algunas delicias de la tierra.
