We visited Punjabi Palace in Los Montesinos last night with some friends and colleagues. The restaurant is a little hard to find, tucked away off of the main street located in a pretty square surrounding a town centre park. The unassuming restaurant exterior hides a beautifully decorated luxurious eating space in such fine condition that it almost looks like it opened its' doors just yesterday.
The menu is extensive and there's surely something for every palate - even a rare selection of Indian noodle dishes! I chose the staple test of any good curry house - the Chicken Vindaloo, and was in no way disappointed. The chicken breast was tender and not dry, the sauce was appropriately very hot without being eye-watering, and the basmati rice was light and fluffy (something so simple, yet often hard to achieve).
Our table of 16 was seated immediately, I never saw any of our party with an empty glass, orders were taken personally and politely, and the whole experience was uncomplicated, relaxed; and the staff exceptionally friendly with a sense of humour. Superb, especially considering that the place seemed fully booked for a Saturday night.
If you like high-quality Indian cuisine served in a luxurious restaurant, with friendly service and good value prices, I can recommend Punjabi Palace as one of the finest dining experiences you'll...
Read moreA delightful restaurant serving delicious food cooked by someone with obvious skills. I was served poppodum and dips as soon as I was seated. The dips called out attention to detail, being homemade and included a delicious hand cut mango salsa. I started with the Paneer Pakora and the with first bite I knew someone in the kitchen took pride in their work. A subtle blend of ground spice and fresh herb just brought this rather bland cheese to life! For the main I tried one of the chefs specialities, a Lamb Karahi, cooked in tomatoes, onion, garlic and a delicate blend of spices, accompanied by Punjabi Specil Fried Rice. It was made even better by a deliciously fluffy homemade Garlic Naan Bread. This guy can cook, and the whole family know how to run a restaurant and make you feel content and happy. A very welcoming, warm and cosy experience. A great place to take the family. Highly...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant many times as it is my preferred local choice when wanting to eat Indian food. The food, and particularly the curries, have always been excellent, full of flavour and in plentiful supply. Unfortunately, the portion sizes have shrunk. You used to be able to come here and leave feeling stuffed, but my latest visit saw a portion of rice which sparsely covered the plate, and the curry itself had way less chicken in it than normal. This resulted in me leaving the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and still hungry, despite eating some naan bread and poppadoms. I could of added a desert but didn't given the prices, which where excessive for a small portion of ice cream. Its a shame because this used to be the best, but i won't be returning in a hurry when other local Indian restaurants offer a more fulfilling and...
