Chiringuito Mari Gutiérrez — Restaurant in Málaga

When we arrived we were shown a table which was already set and thought nothing of it until we were asked to move as they said someone was sitting there?? The waitress turned up with three drinks for the said party but it was obvious that they had up and left. It didn't take long to understand why!! We asked for a menu. It took at least five minutes to arrive. Another delay.....then the waiter took our drinks order even though we said we had already chosen the food. Another delay. The drinks arrived but the waitress said she couldn't take our food order as another waiter was dealing with it. He'd moved on to serve other newcomers. I complained and the order was taken. No issue with the food. I asked for another drink. We waited, it didn't arrive. We waited another long period to get the bill. There were enough staff to deal with the amount of customers but it was absolutely chaotic. We have been before, two years ago, and had a bad experience but put that down to post COVID issues, however, there was no excuse this time other than poor service. It's such a pity because it is in a great location and if better, we would have visited and spent money...

We arrived at about 5.30pm with 23 month old in tow. We were roundly ignored initially and eventually gained a servers attention (despite being the only customers at this time). Service was polite but clipped and we actually felt unwelcome - I appreciate it’s not peak hours but this was just rude - I even had to go and find a high chair myself). Food took a long time and arrived with quite a significant lapse between the two, meaning I was forced to eat whilst my wife and daughter waited for their food. The food was fine if nothing special (my wife ordered chips to help appease a toddler growing tired after much waiting around - these were terrible!). Our untouched, unasked for bread was also added to the bill and payment took an age to be collected as I think they were hoping we’d just leave it (was not leaving a 30% tip after this experience). It may be better at peak hours but we will never even consider returning....

Today we where at this Chirinquito, it was in our memory's always a fine restaurant. But today we had such a terrible experience. before I tell the story, this is not the owner who we know...he has sold the business, good for him. But the previous owners are doing the good name from him not good.

We never had taste and seen such a bad looking, tasting, cold , disgusting paella.

Bread served in plastic bags, I think also from the grossery MAKRO.

Waiters who are more serviceable at factory

NEVER NEVER AGAIN..

WHAT A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY . Specially when think about that there are so many other good restaurants who are earning this money and not this one. Keep your money in your pocket, do spend it here.

Do not go !!

You can better order a tomato soup then this paella from the grossery...
